I'm really :censored: pissed off right now. So i just need to vent a little about people.
The music store Mark works for was robbed last night. I'm just in total shock! It's family owned and opperated by Mark's BiL and his dad. It's a super nice place, everyone who works there is totally amazing, and it's a huge part of the community! Always involved, and trying to help everyone out. And last night someone broke in and stole a bunch of guitars and the cash from the register.
Why do people do this? I am so disapointed. And shocked because the music store is below their home. The owner and his family and the dog live upstairs. And nobody knew a thing until this morning when they got up. We're not completely sure yet. But we're guessing it happend between 530-6am when Dave left for work and 730 when Paul (the owner) found it. We think it was planned. They knew exactly what they were looking for and where everything was. Plus there was 8 or more electric guitars stolen so it took some time, or a couple of people.
GRRRR! The police are involved, there is a detective assigned the case now. So hopefully they will catch who ever did this.
I :censored: hope so! These guys are amazing, i'm really bothered that this happened to them.

Yeah there are some bad people in the world. I am sorry to hear this happened to you guys. I hope they find who did this and that they are prosecuted.

Did they have any security in the store? Cameras, alarms, etc? If not, I would get some! Did they have insurance to cover theft?

Try not to let this get you guys down. Stay the good people you are and don't let the bad guys win.

I am terribly sorry to hear about this whole ordeal. I am so glad to hear though that no one was physically injured during this. I just can't believe some people! Do they :censored: not have anything better to do with their time? I hope that whoever did this is caught/prosecuted and convicted. Things like this make people feel very unsafe. No one deserves this. Especially good people.

I know this is very difficult, but don't let it consume you, or break your spirit. We are all here for you.

Thanks guys.
I'm a bit worried about Mark. He loves that place so i think it's going to bring him down a bit. There were no camera or a security alarm. There is an alarm on the door that rings upstairs where the family lives, but you get so accustom to it you don't hear it after a while. The dog didn't think anything of it because one of the sons of the owner had already left for work so she must have thought it was him coming back in if she heard anything. I'm sure they will get an alarm installed in the near future. It's in such a small town that it was never anything they ever thought of. Plus someone was always home (there is 5 people living there). I don't think they would have ever thought someone would break in while their home.

That's just sad. People do suck!

I'm going to off shoot of this a little bit because I think this is a result of the silly entitlement issues America as a whole has today. My sister took money from my mother's bank account; took the card early in the morning and withdrew $250! When my mother vented about this at work, one of her coworkers said that happened to her a few times and she had to start locking her purse in her bedroom with her. I work in a mental health/behavioral health clinic and while I can't mention specific cases, I've heard of the same type of thing here as well. When did it become ok to just take what you wanted? Driving to work this evening I heard about a nineteen year old girl who had robbed FOUR BANKS! We're not talking wimpy convenience store knock offs...we're talking branches of national banks!

Sorry y'all, but this is so frustrating to me! What's going on with this country that this has become a normal thing! BLAH!

So here's the scoop!
They figure it was a bunch of teens. The damage can be found for a couple blocks from where someone is missing a brick from their retaining wall. Half the brick is on the street infront broken. At the medical supply shop a block away the windows where all broken. They then went up the street to the music store where the rest of the brick was infront of the entrance. They took 8 guitars, cash, and all the bass strings. They then crossed the street into the bush and over to a sub-division. Just follow the trail of price-tags. One guitar was found in the bush and returned. :ura1: It's salvagable (sp?) They're thinking they're going to clean it up and sell it at a discount maybe. So things are looking good.
I feel terrible because the family has been having a really tough time with the fact that someone broke into their home. Apperently nobody slept last night. They didn't have a camera system, but are looking into getting one now. So hopefully that will help everyone feel a bit safer.
They also notified the other music stores in the area. Incase anyone brings in a guitar of the same make to sell. We're also keeping an eye on eBay. The guys at the store are letting the teachers know and asking them to keep an ear out for anyone trying to sell some guitars cheap. They've also said they've got some leads and the police are getting prints from the guitar they found in the bush.
Anyways... i'm really glad things are looking up. Atleast they are getting somewhere with the investigation :D Thanks for listening.

Glad to hear that things are looking up! Maybe they will find the kids that did this.
