I have found the necklaces I want my BMs to wear, and have found the beads I want to use (faux pearls - ivory) but cannot find the right size beads - 12mm or above with holes drilled big enough to get ribbon through it.

You guys have seen them - the pearl necklaces with ribbon ties?

Here is a pic of what I want to make and the BMs dresses so you can see what they'll look like.

Any resources would be really helpful. It is simply the size of the hole in the blasted beads I am having trouble with...... I guess we could try to drill them? Arrrggghhhh I can see that turning into a trip to the Emergency Room and me in bandages or a cast for the wedding ! :lafhard:

Thank you !

EXACTLY where I found the 20MM beads I want to use to match the pic I posted. My problem is the holes are too tiny to feed the ribbon through them. I had posted same inquiry on the Attire threads, and basically the same responses are coming - drill the holes out. Man this is gonna hurt, I can feel it com'n. Have you gotten your beads already? I am trying to see if there are any other options before I order them !

Thanks so much for the response !

I do know that I have a ton of these pearl beads from there that run in 4mm-12mm they looked bigger online so I am going to try and send them back because i want bigger pearls... only thing is that i lost my inventory sheet
:( so i dont know if they will take them back.... but will end up getting bigger ones anyway and drilling the whole... i just need to find some black satin ribbon to go with them... my DIY projects have seem to be a money pit because i get going on them get one done and end up not liking them... am i just wasteful or has other people found that DIY and a wedding is a money pit?

What I have found is that these are always a work in progress to get them the way you want them, and I end up buying supplies that don't work and having to return them.

I've been buying just what I need to do a prototype and work with it till I get it the way I want it, then go get the whole supply list at one time.

But yes, if not careful it can be a money pit.

Sorry I can't help you with the beads, but I love your bridesmaid dresses. Where are they from?

Girl, we got the best darn deal on these ! They were on sale for about $70 some bucks, BUT when we went through the shopping cart function on the site, they were marked down to $52 ! My girls were screaming they were so happy !

They have them in green and ivory too I think.

Ann Taylor also has shoes and bags to match !

As you guys know I have searched high and low for large pearl beads with large holes to thread on ribbon to make the look of this picture - attached.

I finally found the beads, and they came in ! They are 16 mm and I got them from this website - www.trashcity.com (http://www.trashcity.com/). I am so excited ! I'll spend the evening putting one together and will post a picture when I get the first one finished.

Yippee - I am soooooo excited about this !

Between the lanterns and the necklaces I've run out of the blasted ribbon - and my local Joann's Fabrics is out of it and say they can't get more within two weeks

Guess I'll be on the road searching ! But still so thrilled I know I can find more.

Thanks guys !
