Is anyone doing unity candles?
I think we are going to add it to the ceremony, but I'm not sure what type to buy and what they should even look like. We met with the officiant today and he told us what they signify and we love the idea of unitied the 2 families.
Anyone know about them??

The unity candle thing is quite common in weddings here. It can be as simple as 3 basic candles to a nice keepsake on in the center ... maybe with your colors in it or maybe even a personalized one.

Here are a few ideas ...

I am making my own unity candle. I just wanted to make it a little special. I "googled" it and found some directions.

I really think that unity candles are a wonderful symbol.

I love the idea behind the Unity Ceremonies. My sister did the unity candle, but I seriously thinking about the Sand Ceremony. I want to include our kids and I dont think I can supervise 5 kids with candles.

We're doing a unity candle and I picked up some candles that were onsale after Christmas at Meijers. Just regular old pillars that I could dress up if I wanted to. I wanted to keep the candles simple because the holder isn't your usual holder. I got it in a set of two for $40. It's supposed to be a fireplace decoration, but it holds 3 candles and has beautiful wrought iron scrollwork. I just loved it!
