Save the Dates/Wedding block nightmare

So, as you might have seen I just finished my save the dates last week and was super pumped about them. My mom was adament about having our wedding room block at this particular hotel and so I made that the number one accommodation recommendation on the STDs. So, I was waiting for a call back to discuss rates at that particular hotel and placed the order for the STDs. I went ahead with the order of the STDs because I was under the impression that availability wouldn't be an issue. Come to find out TODAY - two days after I've already ordered my STDs - they have no wedding room blocks available for our date!!! WTF. Basically here is the problem, my mom has been putting this off for so long that I just was like, I'm calling them today mom. And so I did and now there are no rooms available, I've got save the dates with the wrong accommodations coming to my house right now, and I've got to find a new hotel and reorder the STDs next week. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I am so irritated with my mom's procrastination. She basically likes to do everything the old fashioned way, she doesnt know how to use email or the computer so she's basically like, "well hang on, I need to call them and look at the paperwork they sent me..." and I'm like, mom - we need to have a little sense of urgency.....

Okay, done venting, I'm sure it will all work out, but it just really made me mad because out STDs were just shipped and I was so excited that they were coming in this week :( Now I've got to go thru the whole process again and pay for them AGAIN.

wo im so sorry. this does stink. is there anyway to send back the ones you got for some sort of CREDIT towards the new ones *sometimes places like that will recycle.. i did this with business cards and got a credit toward my next purchase.

I kinda have the same problem, I didnt print anything on my STD but I did have a problem getting a wedding block. I went to a hotel to talk to someone and long story short I had to call them back a week later and they were like "oh yeah on that date we have no available rooms, NOT ONE SINGLE ROOM!! How can a huge hotel have not one room available?? HMM...that is exaclty the reason I hate making plans like that, nothing seems to work out nicley!

I hate when you rely on other people to do things and it's either wrong, no sense of urgencey... etc...etc. You have a great attitude about it though and you are right it will all work out. I'm not sure how far most of your guests have to travel but most didn't make their accomadations until after I had sent out the invitations. I inserted hotel accomadations, detailed directions, and maps with my invitations. So, perhaps you could doctor up the STD's and in the mean time find another place to block off rooms.

This problem seems to go around, I have this problem with my grandma. Well guess it doesn't really matter. After all tomorrow is another day.

Hey - thanks for the suggestion - I called vistaprint and asked them and they refunded the entire order!!! Unfortunately, my mom changed her mind AGAIN and we had to order them for a third time!!! Now i'm just finding this comical.....what can you do besides laugh?! ha.
