i bought a pilates dvd from target the other day. its only beginners because i have never tried pilates. i have done it 2 days in a row now and i love it.

i cant do high impact excersizes because it absolutely kills my joints. so pilates seemed perfect for me. low impact and its actually pretty fun. i do half an hour of it in the mornings and i have had a lot of energy the past couple days. i know its only been 2 days but i feel like if i make my attempt public i might be more apt to stick to it.

my abs are killing me but i take that as a good sign. i wasnt sweating like crazy and didnt feel like i was doing actual work but when i was done i had the jello feeling that comes along with working out for the first time in a while. after the holidays i weighed in at 163. im more worried about the body fat % rather than the weight. im fine with being 160 if im toned and not so flabby so i dont really have a goal weight, more like a goal fat %.

ill (hopefully) keep this up longer than my other workout attempts. lol

this is the end of my third week of pilates. doing them at least 3 times a week but more like 4 or 5. i have gained about 3-4 lbs back of what i lost initially but thats to be expected with gaining muscle so im not too discouraged. i can already feel that my abs are tighter because some of the exercises that i couldnt do at first i can already do very well. this is probably the thing ive done that has shown me the most immediate results. my back pain is totally gone, i feel like my posture is better and my pinched nerve in my neck that doctors said was just always going to be there, is gone. the tension in my shoulders ia practically non-existant. even if i dont lose weight, i think ill keep doing it for the sheer fact that my spine and muscles feel so much better! i have also been making a conscious effort to drink my 64 oz. of water everyday. the only soda i drink now is rootbeer because, out of everything, that seems to be the best choice overall when i start to get sick of drinking water.

overall i give pilates two big thumbs up. im not tired during the day, i have so much more energy and sleep better at night. its doing wonders for my whole body and my mind, not just for muscle tone. i actually feel in a better mood now. yay endorphines! i recommend this for anyone who hates the gym and has horrible joints like mo lol

I have been doing pilates (off and on...my motivation eventually wares off or I just don't make the time to exercise like i should) for about a year or so and I absolutely love it. I love to begin my day with pilates because when I'm done its like there is no stress, I have energy and I feel so much better as a whole. I currently own three dvds of pilates workouts. Reciently, I have been doing 20 minutes of my abs buns and thighs dvd and then following it up with 20 minutes of pilates.

I think its awesome that you have been able to stick with your routine for three weeks! Good for you!
