Ok so My charlie and I have both been married twice (yes twice) before. Long stories but learned from our mistakes. When we began talking wedding stuff he asked me if I wanted to wear a traditional wedding dress. If I wanted a big wedding. Not quite sure what he was thinking but I was thinking "NO WAY". So I was honest and told him I did that and because I am divorced I dont see a reason to have a big ceremony this time. We both got married for the wrong reasons before and now everything about this union is right. Even tho everything is so right, I dont want a traditional wedding dress. (I dont even want to wear white or ivory) Our ceremony is going to be super small in his mothers beautiful backyard. Not a dis on men at all but his typical answer was "whatever you wanna do babe is fine with me"
I would like to wear maybe a slip style dress. Something maybe floor length. Something classy not tacky or professional street walker style lol. I cant have it white, ivory or black. So my question is...what color would be beautiful in June and is it really ok for me to go so non traditional?

It is absolutely okay!! Even if it was your first wedding you could be non-traditional--it's about making YOU happy! For colors, I'd say with June anything light and summery would be pretty..maybe a pink or a lavender? Sage green? You could look at bridesmaid dresses or if you wanted to wait till April or May there would even be prom dresses out.
Maybe something like this? http://img.davidsbridal.com/db/s08_81509_2.psd.xml&cmp-color=top,xF7E8E4&ftr=5&cmp-end=1&wid=330&hei=460&cvt=jpg Just an idea!

Pink or lavender not quite....ME. But I love the idea of sage green. I was also thinking of maybe a royal purple or royal blue. I do believe the ceremony will be at dusk so we will have the lights on the little water fall and a ton of candles on the tables and in hanging cages. hummm what do you think?

I agree; get married how YOU want and in whatever color you want :frogg:

To be quite honest any color you want. I wouldn't suggest like Dark Red or Dark Colors but if you like hot pink or yellow bright or light just be yourself and it will look great. The last time I checked it not wrote in stone anywhere that a bride has to were white. I know it sounds crazy but I like black Victorian style dress for weddings, but my FH and MOH and everyone else says i'm a little nutty but my thought is it's mine and when people see it that would say that's so mandie.

Do you want to make a statement? How about a to die for, drop dead gorgeous red dress? or a striking "look at me" emerald green?

I personally LOVE the dark colors. I'm also a huge fan of red wedding dresses...and don't think there are enough! (I'm not really a red bride, but I'm jealous of those who are!)

Definitely go for it! (This coming from a bride who is having black trim on her wedding dress) The first color I thought of when I read your post was blue. Light or dark would be lovely. After reading other responses about sage or emerald green, I thought those would be pretty also.
Good luck finding a dress you love. :)

oh my gosh. I love that last one too. And as for the red...I thought about that because thats Charlies favorite color. Very good ideas. I cant wait to find the perfect one for me. I know I will.
as for making a statement...The ceremony is going to VERY quick and the only other people who are going to be there are our moms, bestman, maid of honor and the kids. So the statement is going to have to be all in the pictures and its a must I look as pretty as I can. The backyard is going to be so beautiful Im affraid its going to up satge me. Cant have that happen

What are your hair and eye colors? How about your skin tone? If you want to make a dramatic statement and you've got red hair and green or blue eyes, you could go for a red dress or a hunter green one. If you've got black or dark brown hair and blue eyes you could go for a deep royal purple . . . that would look fabulous.
Jewel tones tend to be striking and depending on the tone, they'd fit in well with a June wedding.

Wear whatever color you like! I've seen a lot of second/third-time brides choose a silver dress... It's very shiny and pretty!

heheheheheh well I have dark brown hair and green eyes. My skin is a natural sort of Olive color. I tan a really nice brown in the summer. and my eyes, depending on the makeup and what I wear, look super green or really dark blue..Guess i wont go wrong if I find something I love and I feel comfortable in right?

Girl if you can make your eyes look green I would up play that because I was just reading something the other day that green eyes are the rarest and I think that is super cool! That's just my 2 cents.
