Ushers Question

We are trying to cut cost and one of the things I thought about was just asking our Ushers to wear black suits and then buying a tie for them to wear that matches the colors or even renting just the ties that the groomsmen will be wearing. Do you think that would be ok or should I rent them a tux as well?

Well traditionally they are part of the wedding party and would buy their own outfit. however, my ushers all have siblings in the wedding party as fg, rb, gm and bm so i just asked them to wear a black suit and i told them i will buy the tie for them. I will get a black tie or red tie. i THINK i will end up with black b/c red is what the GM are wearing AND im more likely to find black cheaper cuz my red is crazy hard to find :)

We had the same issue - and finally decided to rent the Ushers tux's with a different color tie. We actually got a good deal by adding the Ushers to the list - and BTW - ALL OF MY ATTENDANTS are covering their own outfits. We got the tux rental for $99, groom and ring bearer free. The BM dresses were Ann Taylor sale items and were all $58 a piece.
