I know this has prob. been covered before but I was wondering when I should sent out my Save the Dates?? For those who dont know my wedding is June 28. I was also wondering when would be a good time to send out wedding invitations and when should I have them RSVP by?? Any help would be great

Well, most people say to sent out the invitations about 6-9 weeks before the wedding. So STD's should be sent well before this.
STD's are sort of like annoucements to the people you intend to invite; to give them a heads up that your wedding is coming and to "save the date" ;) I usually tell people about 4-6 months prior to the date is good.

My wedding is August 9th and I just sent the Save the Dates...just about everyone is having to travel and hotel rooms book early where we are having the wedding so I wanted to make sure to get them out early...
Since you are getting married in June I would say you can send them now if you want to.
As for invites, I will probably be sending mine early in June (8 weeks before) to give me time to get the rsvp's by mid July (3 weeks before). Does you caterer require a headcount by a certain time? If so I would take that date and count backwards to figure out when to send invites.

Hello! Yes, I'm new to the forum, and no, I'm not a troller despite my little comment here, I had NEVER heard the acronym STD for something wedding related and I'm sorry I just had to give a laugh, it made me think of something ENTIRELY different! Well, not entirely I guess, vaguely related in a round about way.
ANd yes, I was seeking a wedding forum because there was one particular thread I wanted to post and learn from.
Anyways! lol Sorry for the disturbing thoughts. I hope and pray all goes well and wonderful on your wedding day. I've been married five and a half years myself now. Well, almost the half, my wedding was on June 28th.
Just remember, not everything will go as planned, try not to stress and just let things flow. In the end, even the mess ups and goofs can make your wedding beautiful and memorable. ^_^ Like little rinbearers and flower girls being too young to get things right and running for mommy instead of up the aisle. ALWAYS adorable! Hang what the priest or minister says about age requirements for the little cuties. Just because it's a holy sacrament doesn't mean it can't be amusing too with God's little gifts underfoot.
Since you are getting married in June I would say you can send them now if you want to.
I agree. I just ordered my Save the Dates today, and soon's they get here I'm sending them out, and I have 5 months and 2 weeks till the wedding.

Our wedding is still a year off, but I'm sending my save the dates as soon as they arrive. Obviously, I'm an over-planner, so I don't think you can ever really give enough notice. People often times plan vacations a year in advance, so I want to make sure to give plenty of time.

I would send out save the dates six months before the wedding but I wouldn't expect an R.S.V.P. until after I sent out the invitations. Because alot of people still don't know what they are doing for the summer. But you will have hotels booked off for those who have to travel right? We have hotels booked and we won't get charged for the rooms we don't use as long as we cancel them 48 hrs before the event.
