Why all the caps? Looks like your screaming.
The cost of flowers really depend on what type of flowers they are, how many will be included in the table arrangements, and how rare there are to get in at that time of season.
The most expensive flowers are roses, and cala lilies, during any season.
All my flowers - centerpieces (8 tables- 60 guest - all cala lilies), alterpieces (mix with a few cala lilies), decoration (two green garlands), bonquets (three, white and red cala lilies), flower girl basket and head piece (colored rose petals), a small reef for a candle alterpiece and corsages (twelve- single cala lily) ran about 5,000.
I did not buy any other decorations. Since, I had my wedding and reception at the same location my florist (whom was local) came and moved my alterpieces and garlands to the reception area for a small fee of $200, which was not bad at all. The size of the alterpieces and the length of the garland would have been difficult to move otherwise.

I dont think that is a lot at all I know people have spent more for less people. I plan to use fake flowers, as I just hate spending so much money on something that will die. I rather spend less and make arrangements that I can keep later on to remind me of the big day that will last for years to come.
However, dont think that is way to much as I said I have seen way more spent on flowers, for those that love flowers. They are not cheap!

I ended up only keeping my wreath centerpiece from a candle alter arrangement I have done. After the wedding my mom hung all the flowers and filling from it upside down so it could dry out. Then, when they were all dried out I made a wreath from them for my front door.
Now, everytime I come home I can be reminded of my wedding day.
I tried to dry out my bouquet, but that did not work to well. In ended up moldy looking. :(

I went the artifical flower route - alot cheaper & I have my bouqet in my shadow box! It's nice to have that as a reminder of my special day - almost 10years now....wow - it's gone by so fast - I can hardly believe it!!
I spent total on flowers - $750 (my bouqet, 7 bridesmaids bouqets, 2 flower girl baskets, 1 junior bride bouqet, my throw away bouqet, boutineers for 14 men & 10 corsages....also included in that was the alter decorations & decorations at the reception hall).
It is completely up to you - if going with fresh flowers - $3000 - $5000 is average.

Personally I think that's alot!!!! The flowers will last no longer than a week after your wedding, and you'll still be paying for them months later. What I plan to do is buy all my flowers from a greenhouse. They will even add special preservatives, so the petals don't fall apart throughout the day. They are much more reasonably priced than a florist would be. Especially if you're going for the hand tied bouquet look, it's so easy to create bouquets. Or maybe someone you know makes flower arrangements, and can help you.
The only time I would go to a florist is if I wanted something that required a lot of work and detail and I had unlimited amounts of money to spend. Wedding are so expensive- things like flowers is where you can find ways to cut the costs.
Some ideas you can do yourself, and that are simple

Floating candles and flowers

These are simple ideas that you can do yourself, and won't cause you to become broke.
But if you had your heart set on using a florist, I think flowers are supposed to run about 15% of your budget. So if you have $20000 to work with, than you're within range.

I don't know where abouts you are located but here is what I am doing since I am in a small town. Instead of going with a Flower shop where it would probably cost me an arm and a leg, I decided to go with someone local and who runs their own business from home. I think we have saved considerably because we will have beautiful arrangements for about 400-600 dollars. I think 3000 dollars for some flowers would be a fairly steep price. I would see if there wouldn't be a way that maybe you could bring in some potted plants that at the end of the night some of your guests could take home with them, and get cut flowers for your bouqet and corsages and such. I think it would be far more reasonable, because what would you do with loads of cut flowers after the wedding? Thats just my thought on things. Mind you, maybe we do things a little different in Canada, maybe yours is a very formal affair that only cut flowers would look good at. I think maybe you should look at the day and ask yourself if the amount that you would spend on flowers would suit for the type of wedding you are having. Having cut flower arrangements at a less formal affair might look too over done, but having potted flowers might look cheap at a higher extravagent wedding... Just a quick suggestion, go with something else as a table center piece for the reception. Something like a Rose bowl with some colored flat marbles and a candle could save you some money and look just as elegant!

I love the hand tied white lillies and want to use them in my wedding. Can you tell that the fake ones are fake? Any suggestions on how to incorporate this into a budget with 10 girls in my wedding (includes bridesmaids and flowergirls) not parents/grandparents. I'm not a flower-lover but would like it to bring the colors out. I have the most expensive taste though--& fell in love with the lillies and roses right away. Please help!

Best thing to do, is to shop around ~ you can find the fake flowers that look identical to the real thing, but then again you can find some that are obviously not real.
Good luck.

It is a personal preference issue, but I prefer the real thing for the smell. They add that extra sensory experience to the ambiance.

It all depends on how many flowers and what type of flowers you are getting. The total cost of my flowers for my wedding is $100.00 thats for mine,my bridesmaids, flower girls, all the guys and a few here and there. I am also doing silk flowers not real so I can keep them. a bunch of flowers of silk run here between $2.00-$5.00 so they are pretty cheap.
