Right or left leg for garter?

Is the garter suppose to be worn on the right or left leg or does it not matter? :confused:

I wore mine on my left leg...Not so sure if that was right though...I don't think it matters really

I don't recall seeing anything about this yet, so I would assume that it doesn't matter. Just wherever it feels more comfortable to you.

Ok Im wearing 2 garters one toss and one for fh to keep. I know if I wear them both on the same leg the toss garter goes lower then the keep right?

yes the throw goes lower so he can get to it easier.

Throwing the garter began in France when pieces of the bridal attire were considered lucky. The bride would throw the garter to the guests at the wedding and whoever caught it could expect good luck. In the United States, the groom traditionally removes the garter from the bride and throws it to the unmarried men. The man who catches it is thought to be the next to marry. At some weddings the man who catches the garter will place it on the leg of the lady who caught the bouquet or they may start the next dance. It is also common for the recipients of the bouquet and garter to have a photograph taken with the bride and groom.

The garter is placed on the brides right leg, just above the knee.Often the bride chooses to wear both a garter to throw as well as a garter that she would keep.
However I did find other sites, that did not specificly mention what side to wear a garter on. As there was no real tradition to what side the garter is on. It's just with what side your more confortable with.

I know for our reception I had one to throw and one to keep. The one to throw I wore on the right and the one to keep on the left.
