OK so I am setting my heart on the amour royale or bouquet by Maggie Sottero, the wiring is quickly ticking down and time is starting to close in... so I am full figured, but I am large hipped and thighed, pear shape you could say... my question is which would look better, full skirt or slim skirt?
No I havent been able to try on either of these dresses, because I have exhausated my time and effort into finding a store that carries the dress in either style and a size suitable to fit me somewhat....

This is the "slim" A-line style OR....

The "full" A-line style....
So which one?

Personally, I think that the full skirt would flatter anyone. It would be hard to go wrong with that..... I really love the dress!!!!!!!!! I actually like the full skirt a little more anyway.

I like them both too well to decide on my own.... I just decided that I am going to get this dress and have a friend do bead work on it... so... its too hard to decide... and the other thing that is bothering me is that I have been losing weight and working out more and I am afraid of it not fitting right... ugh.. i am sooo stressed right now...

I agree that fuller A line skirts are flattering on most. I think they're both beautiful dresses, but I love the 2nd choice!

If either of these has the famous Maggie Corset back, that will accommodate weight changes of up to 10 pounds without a problem...in bust and waist. Hips don't matter in the fuller skirts anyhow. JoAnne

Full skirt! They're both gorgeous, but the full just strikes me better. I also think it'll be more flattering on the hips to have the skirt a bit higher up.

I think the full works better with this style.

Being a pear shape myself, i would say go for the A-line. :)

A-line skirts flatter every figure, but when *both* dresses are A-line, what's a girl to do? Brideincuffs, I feel your pain! :)
With these dresses what's more important is your vertical waist measurement and whether or not a full skirt will make you look bottom heavy. The right proportion is more important than a full or a slim skirt right now -- because both of those styles will flatter your pear figure.
You need to figure out your proportions from the waist up. In general, you want the middle of your body to be slimmer than the top and bottom halves, and the top half (including your shoulders) should be slightly less -- in horizontal measurement terms -- than your hip measurement.
In clothing, which provides wonderful optical illusions, you will have to figure out, given your own particular body type, which skirt/dress will look best and most in-proportion to itself. If you've got a C cup or higher I'd suggest the fuller skirt.
Personally for myself, as an example? I have Mae West's type of figure, so I'll be balancing my top heavy top with an A-line skirt that has a bustle and a train on the bottom -- also a hat, and probably an updo to give me the illusion of height. And a corset to create curves, support my bosom, and give a flattering stomach line.
With your dress, the corset appears to be built in so you won't have to worry about getting one separately :) Don't forget -- lace it loosely, but tight enough that you have support. Make sure you can breathe! And tighten it down gradually throughout the day. Your body will get used to the feeling and you'll panic, thinking it's going to fall off. It won't! Just have whoever is lacing you tighten the laces again until you feel supported.
PS -- PM me for advice on how to 'fluff'. It makes a vast difference, I promise!

Yes, I am going to go with the fuller skirt. I have realized if its too puffy for me then I can take out some layers of the crinolin or tulle...!

I see you're choosing the fuller skirt. Coming in late on the conversation, I would have choosen it as well. I really like how unique the material is on the skirt...very pretty!
