Hey everyone, yes I have been laying low, alot of things have been going on and my online time has been limited.. well now Im back in action!

I have been searching for a thread like this for answers.

So now I have had very little time to get out to stores to do our registery,...

So my question... last night my FH and I registered ourselves at BedBathByond and Walmart.... we have already added to the list... what I am concerned about is the things we want, will they be in the store if we are doing the adding online. I plan on one day meeting up and going to WlaMart and BBB to get the registries and walk through and see if they have what we want in the store... like a compare and contrast thing....

Does anyone have advice or have already had experience with registering and adding gifts online and people being able to purchase them in the store...

Thank you... kelly

Ryan's mom already got some stuff from our BBB registry for us for x-mas. I'm pretty sure she went into the store and most of the items were there. She got us the wrong wok, but all that happened was that it showed up on our registry as 0 requested and 1 purchased.

I think though, given the choice more people might just buy it online rather than go in the store and see if it's available...

At walmart hardly anything online is also available in the store. It is best to go into the store and register as well. The only problem is guests finding the items on your registery because a lot of the descriptions don't make sense. I have quit adding to my walmart registery cause they don't have very much Target and Kohls are better and have comparable prices.

If you ARE adding online Target and Walmart can both tell you which local stores have the item (by putting in zip code) But I would recommend adding in the store if you can, its just easier. Kohls doesn't have much online IMO.

I totally agree with Kohls not having very much online. I worked at Walmart and they suck to find things on the registeries and there is never anyone to help people look. Bed Bath and Beyond is good as well if you have one near you too.

One of the things I've noticed about some gift regestries is, you go to one store near you, see something you like (Like a lamp with a vintage looking shade) the peson going to there local store looks for that item, and that store doesn't carry it.
Inventory can vary so much from store location to store location. So next best thing is to check online at the stores website, and see if they can ship it to your local store for free.
