Does anybody have any good tips to make your chest appear larger and yhow to get cleavage in your wedding dress? I've used push up bras since I was 14. All through out high school I was an A, and since then somehow I've grown to almost a C. Push up bras have never "pushed me up" because I had nothing there to push up. Now that I do does anybody have any good suggestions?

Here is my dress. http://a954.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/30/l_905dcd00d1d7eb8bcd79dedbbfb32a11.jpg

Creating cleavage 101 :)

Tape. Did you know that is an acceptable practice in pageants? (Lorie Ann suggests surgical tape) A piece taped vertically on each breast along the side will give them a quick lift, and a piece or two taped discreetly across the bottom of the breasts to pull them together.

Wear two bras. Wear a normal comfortable bra underneath and then a Victoria's Secret, etc. (Padded, Miracle) over the other one. You instantly get amazing cleavage.

Go one band size down. If you are a 36, go to 34, this forces them together. I don't recommend doing this regularly! Someone suggested safety pinning the front of the bra together, (to attach the front portion together that is), work wonders.

Good Posture. Stand straight, head high, shoulders back, chest out!

Textured fabrics, such as ribbed shirts and puffy sweaters make you look bigger.

Form fitting clothing, such as turtlenecks.

Darker colors, especially black, make you look smaller. Wear tighter, white, v-neck (somewhat low cut) shirts. Light pastel colors make your breasts appear larger.

Kelli suggests: Hug yourself. In the right kind of top, you get instant cleavage just by folding your arms tightly under your bust.

Tighten your bra straps, which pulls you upward, creating instant cleavage, but not comfy! or try wearing one cup size smaller.

Apply bronzer to area in between breasts, where cleavage is SUPPOSED to be or take an eye shadow brush with a little bit of a dark color shadow on it like brown. Put it underneath your breast and go up to wear the cleavage should be. Blend it in with your fingertips. This gives the illusion that your breast are fuller. Or add white powder to your breast and dark shadow to your cleavage. This makes the cleavage darker and the breast lighter. works every time. Light looks bigger dark looks deeper.

Carla would take a flat hair barrette (the best are Goody's brand because they're cheap and get the job done) and attach the barrette to both bra straps in the back (like hooking them together under your shoulder blades). Carla says the push up effect worked wonders for her!

Try tanning with a bikini top on. The tan lines make your breasts seem larger.

Tessa says, "Wearing a shelf bra where my nipples are free, I appear to be larger--my nipples protrude about 2 inches."
To give the look of "increased" cleavage wear scoop-neck or round neck t-shirts etc. The scoop-neck exposes a horizontal view of the chest, giving the impression greater width - a v-neck shirt gives a vertical view of the chest and that sometimes can lessen the impression. -Laura

Thanks. I'm looking at some Victorias Secret push ups right now.

I used to tape mine ... for pageants, prom etc....
NOOOOO duct tape though! Try the hospital/surgical tape!!!

You lean over and pull one boob and tape from the arm pit to the other side ... then do that with the other one ...

It works pretty good. Other than that, I would suggest just to invest in a pushup bra that fits tight and then go and get those thick boob pad inserts.
Hey ... it is cheaper than a boob job!!

This reminds me of a wedding a did once where the bride used tape because she couldn't wear a bra with her dress. But she must have used the wrong kind of tape cause when she hugged people it would make a slight crinkle noise :geek:

I use a slightly padded push up bra when I want to give the girls an added lift. I am a B and this makes me look like a C ;)

Ironic. I always tried to hide my girls.

By looking at the dress it is not designed for cleavage. You would have to get it altered super tight in the bust area and perhaps bringing it lower to get the effect that you are looking for.

:rassberry: thanks :) Seriously over the last 7 months I've gone from an A to almost a C, I haven't gained weight recently, maybe it's because I changed my birth control pill. I don't want them bigger though, I want cleavage, something I will nevre have..... haha I alwasy used to want to get a boob job, but FH won't allow for it. He says he loves them just the way they are lol!

After looking again at the pic ... Joe's girls is right about this one. It would look weird with this dress b/c your cleavage would be up to you neck to even see it!!! Just stuff you bra a lot to make them appear bigger!

I had a boob job but not the one you are thinking of - I had them reduced. My ex said that more than a handful is a waste :)

I agree with Lauren and Joe's Girl; I didn't even look at the dress much before. The bust line is too high to worry with cleavage so just get a good padded bra that will make the girls look bigger if that is what you want ;)

Just last night my friend was telling me about her nickname "Jello Shot." Her husband enjoys this nickname because "more than a mouthful is too much!" Never heard it in reference to a jello shot, but I like it!!

For those wearing a dress designed for it you can also add an effect with make-up

ETA: I think enhancers are a better way to go than a smaller cup or strap size. I don't "fit" into some of my bras anymore and it's very obvious from the line of chest that squeezes out over the top of the bra.

The victoria secret "secret embrace" is good for making them appear bigger under clothing. The fabric is "firm" so to speak... it keeps its shape no matter what is in there, heh... There are two kinds, try the demi that has a little padding at the bottom.

If you *really* want to wear a bra, and you're sold on the idea of a bra, try Lane Bryant. Seriously. They have this bra called a Balconette and it lifts, separates, defines, and gives cleavage -- and it holds it's shape no matter what, and I do mean no matter what. I went camping and put up 8 tents (with ropes and stakes, not the light nylon type, but heavy canvas) in this bra, and it still did the job.

If you don't or can't wear a bra, try a corset. No, really. No straps to worry about, and a corset *will* give you the cleavage you're looking for.

I am a 44F/G and I swear by my corsets. I don't get raw skin from the straps, no headaches from tight muscles, and they flatter every figure.

If you're only going to wear it for one night or one event, I suggest Fredericks of Hollywood. They have some decent ones there that do the job just for the evening.

Corsets also give shape and cleavage even if you're not looking for it, in a very flattering and discreet way -- if you wear them correctly.

For myself, I'll be wearing a corset and a strapless dress for my wedding and I'll have cleavage -- there's no getting around it when you're a F/G cup! But the corset will smooth things out and help me to give the impression that I am NOT showing off all my assets for the world to see.

19-20 months from now, if any of you are still around here, I'll be posting my wedding pictures and you can see for yourselves :)

I'm going to be wearing a corset, i think as well! Not for the cleavage, though (my dress would be pretty useless for it, since its straight across, lol!) but because it'll suck in my fatty parts.. :urgh:
Sorry for the temp hijacking!

I next to never got cleavage either until I bought myself a push-up bra I LOVE - but I can't wear it to the wedding because it has straps.
I can't do the tape thing because FH would think that's weird when taking my dress off :p

I honestly dont think the dress looks bad. You can show cleavage the rest of your life in other outfits. Make sure you think it through before you start showing "those parts" --- Dont want to look back at your pictures 20 yrs from now and say "what did i do"

just another outlook on it and remember, only my opinion

if it makes you feel any better im a big C and I still don't have cleavage. I think some women are born with it and some aren't. My boobs, I guess, just aren't close enough together to form cleavage. I wish they were but they just aren't. And being so far apart I have a hard time with turtle necks lol. makes them look HUGE! Is that the dress youre sticking with? Im sure a person at a bridal shop would know tons more about that.

I agree with earlybird, you might not want to have that experience of looking through wedding pictures and going "why did I want my boobs to look that cleavage-y?" lol. Maybe save that for the wedding night lol

Example: when I was 16 and I went to prom I bought this really cute strapless pink dress. It wasn't skin tight but it showed my curves. Well, I tried it on for tons of people and everyone said it was cute. I didn't take into account that while taking pictures a huge flash is shown on you and definately brings out everything underneath the dress if you get my drift. Well, anyways, if you look at those pictures you know what color underwear I have on! And now that I look at them I think "why did I wear that dress?" lol

I am soooo with you on trying to minimize mine. However if you look at the pics of my dress in my journal your going to see mine. I was blessed very largely and I hate it!

I suggest getting a corset or a good pushup bra, and if you go with the extra padding (the fake boobs) they sell them at walmart in the panty section. I think they run about 20 bucks.

I bought pads that I am putting in my dress, they are made of a foam-like material. They look totally real, just give you a little extra and do help push everything up. You can have pads sewn in, but if your dress fits really well they pretty much just stay in place.
