Its seems so weird to even say it but my obgyn gave me a script for pre-natal vitamins. I told her that I was going to go off the pill next fall and she said that I should start taking the vitamins now. I've heard a lot of women say that they made them sick. Anyone else have this problem?

No, but when I took them they were about the size of footballs! I needed a full glass of water to wash back the pill.

I took mine at night time because they made me a bit wheezy at times. And as of 5 years ago they are still as big as footballs!

That could be a problem for me, because I have trouble taking my BC pill sometimes, and I get nausea very easily.

You might ask her if using a pill crusher and then mixing it with milk (since it coats the stomach) would be okay for taking them. I don't see why it wouldn't since its just a vitamin it's not an antibiotic you need the full dose of.
I didn't get nauseated while taking them, but then again I didn't get morning sickness either.

We hope to try within the next 5-8 months or so (depending on job situations) so I am (not consistantly just when I remember) taking Folic Acid, which is apparently has no value except for preg. It is just as small as my tiny BC medicine, it has never made me feel sick though.

I had been told to start takign the pre-nats 3 months before we started to try. I was fine with the pills at first. No problems at all. It wasn't until I was actually pregnant that they made me sick.

yeah, I think it is the morning sickness that is aggrevated by the vitamins. But the prescription vitamins are EXPENSIVE! at least mine are... see if they will let you take a generic up until actual pregnancy.

I have been trying to get pregnant with my second baby for almost 2 years and my doctor told me to take the prenatal vitamins the whole time! They have been making me sick the entire time and yet I am still taking them in hopes of getting pregnant!! They are not the most pleasant because they are the size of horse pills and they taste bad too!! They are worth it when you do get pregnant though and that's why I have continued to grin and bear it!!

I'm nowhere near ready to have a baby, but I got some of those for women vitamins that have 400mg folic acid, in preparation for having a baby someday. My doctor said you can't really start too soon with the folic acid. As for everything else, I don't know lol.
