Well, at least we're at a design we both love! I worked all day on 'em. They've changed SOOOOO many times over the last few months. I'm SO happy with them now!
The corsets are the same, btw. Hee!

The thing on top is my stolen-from-Danielle idea...the booklet of info. Here's a close-up of that to show my cut-out over the word 'love' and my heart corner tabs (if you look closely, you can see my eyes in the heart cut-out, too!):

Here's the spread out booklet:

Not yet!! This was the hard part....getting to a place where I was 100% happy with them! LOL
Now I can just do a little bit every week and it'll get done quickly! (And this is also where I call my best friend and give her a pre-wedding job. Heh!)

Thanks, everyone! I'm so very happy with them! :frogg:
I have to make about 55 of them. Not too bad, I guess. And I have NO clue how much they cost each! I've bought so many supplies for my invites (since I've made them about twelve times and keep changing! LOL), there's no telling at this point!
:bblol:
I'll have to add it up now that I have a final design. I'll let ya know!

I'm going to print them myself. I have a nice printer that I just love!

That's what changed my mind, too....I just couldn't get my inserts to make me happy. There was always something that I didn't like about them....and Danielle's booklets worked perfectly the first time I tried it!
:frogg:
I got the heart brads at Michael's. Each package has 30 in it and they cost like $3 I think. They have all kinds...jewels even.

Well, I'll just show ya how I made them!
I was going to use photo corners, but I just can't do things that easily. LOL! So I decided to make some using a corner punch.
I bought this corner punch from Michael's. It's a Fiskars heart corner.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/zennymountain/Punch001.jpg
You just stick your paper in there to the corner like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/zennymountain/Punch004.jpg
And punch down on the button. That will make the corner look like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/zennymountain/Punch005.jpg
Then I just cut the corner out and I end up with this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/zennymountain/Punch007.jpg
You just glue down the top part of this and it will serve as a photo corner! (Be sure to not glue down the actual heart part like I did the first time....you can't stick anything in there if it's glued down! LOL!!)

I can't believe I haven't been here since your save the dates! It has been a bit hectic for me this fall - but I am back just in time to see your beautiful invitations! WOW!!
I LOVE the detail and the personalization and the originality and the colors and patterns and the custom photo corners - I could go on and on! The booklet is a great solution for invitations too! (Just a note to others, if you can't get the right brad - you can also do a knot tie with a ribbon that works great - I've done it on invites and small programs)
Your photos are perfectly chosen for each part - I love to see well-made invitations and yours are really great! Congratulations! I'm glad you only have to do 55, I know all the detail is A LOT of work! Worth it though when you hear back from your guests!
Have you decided what envelope you are using? More work... but I was thinking you could do a handmade liner out of the b/w pattern paper to really tie it all together... There are lots of templates I can find one for your size envelope if you need one.
:-) Celeste, ccsdesign
PS Don't feel bad about 12 tries to get the right one - I do weddings all the time and I always go through anywhere from 10-15 versions on new designs before I am totally happy with the final one!

Awww, thank you! :frogg:
Actually, when I switched from making my own tri-folds to just a regular style, I found (very cheap!) cards w/ envelopes from Michael's. So it comes with an envelope already.
However, I never thought about lining them....doing it with the black & white paper would be perfect! Great idea!!!

They're just white.
I actually thought at first that I should do a monogram or something, but then I figured there was plenty going on everywhere else to add anything. I didn't want to take away from the rest of it. :frogg:

Tango,
I love your invitations. I have a question about the picture. How did you do that. Is it vellum with the picture underneath.
I want to make some graduation invitations using that style.... please help me because it looks really cool.
Thanks
TangoWedding
02-27-2008, 07:41 PM
Thanks :)
No, it's not vellum. I made it up in Adobe Illustrator, where you can put the text over the picture. It just prints just like it is.
You can also do that in Photoshop, but text isn't as clear as it is in Illustrator....it's kinda choppy.
Ya know, you can probably even do it in MS Paint. LOL I've never tried.
