Hi, I'm getting married in June. Can't decide on colors. Boyfriend likes red white and blue? I'm leaning more to black red and silver. what do you think

This is just my personal opinion but the red, white, and blue would be a little to 4th of July/ Go America! for my tastes. But, if that was the patriotic theme you were going for then it would be really unique and nice. It just isn't "me". As for the red, silver, and black. I like that one a little more. It is very formal and elegant. It is also similair to my colors except I have pink instead of red.

Red, Black and Silver are very sleek and classy looking. I love that colour combination! The look of black tuxes with Red vests is very nice!

I agree with the red, black and silver. Although, Ladies - If she went with the red, white and blue, she could wear that patriotic dress that we have a pic of on here somewhere!

Personally, if I were given these choices I would go with the Red, Black and Silver. I would do all black dresses for the girls and black tuxes for the guys with the Silver (or Platinum) vests. Then I'd use red roses and silver ribbon in the flowers and red rose petals on the tables and such. The brides bouquet could have all the colors in it ... maybe red and white roses with black and silver ribbons.

If you went with the Red, White and Blue, you could try to tone it down a bit by just using it in small touches. Play up the blue more ... Like have blue in the dresses and tuxes (but a lighter shade than the 'patriotic' blue) and using red roses with metallic white ribbon.

With a June/Summer wedding you want to invoke the warmth of the season ... so think of what colors you see in nature in the summer. You could use bright and bold colors you might see in flowers, or light and airy ones like at the beach.

:goodluck:

I am having a red, white, black, and sivler wedding in Nov. So I guess I would have to go with those colors.....I don't know I just don't get the red, white and blue weddings sometimes. I have seen some pics from some and I thought that they could have done a better job on it. But if you choose to go with it I am sure that you will do a good job.

I agree with every one else. I like the idea of the red, black, and silver. My date is June 10th and I didnt pick any one or two colors. I chose 6 lol. I have the six colors of the rainbow just toned down to pastels. Good luck and have fun with whatever you choose.

Then we could all say we suggested that dress for her! HEHE! :bblol:

I like the red silver and black...it sounds extremely sleek and elegant. It should be really beautiful. I have to agree with Lacey, the red white and blue is too "Go America!" for me...I'm sure it could be pulled off without being too much of a patriotic statement...but it's just not me.

I have NO idea what colors my wedding is going to be but someone told me you should look at a color wheel and pick colors opposite each other In combination, these create striking contrasts. For less contrast, choose colors next to each other on the color wheel. Choosing colors of different tints within in one color family creates a monochromatic color scheme.A bride I worked with used blue for her ceremony by the sea. Each bridesmaid had a different shade of blue for her dress, and the bouquets include irises, lilies, and delphinium, along with several white varieties of flowers. It was VERY pretty. This may work for you , it didnt for me .... Im still looking :(

I'm doing Red, Black, and White with Silver accents so I'm of course going to say Red, Black and Silver.

People associate red, white and blue with patriotic stuff, but if thats what you want... great! Its really up to you guys... maybe you can come to some sort of compromise? Possibly Black, Blue and silver? Just throwing ideas out there. Hope this helps!

ahh I wouldn't go with red white and blue. unless you are really going for that 4th of July in June look.

Our colors for my May wedding are yellow and white and a little blue (white dasies and yellow roses)

If you're considering the Red, White and Blue theme...what about using different shades, rather than just the normal bright red white and blue that people think of.

For instance, deep blue bridesmaid's dresses, you and the girls carry red or white flowers. The boys where blue or red vests, with either red or white flowers. I think you can avoid looking too 4th of July with a little planning about how to use the colors, and using one more than the the others, so that the two become accent colors.

Or you can use the painting advice FH gives on houses: 60% one main color, 35% one other color, and 5% a third.

Of course, with Black, red and silver it would be easier to create something that doesn't look too patriotic, although I'm not a fan of too much black at weddings...maybe just the bridesmaids dresses or something :)

My colors are red, black and white with touches of silver. I think that you could make teh red, white and blue work, if you really put alot of thought into how you wanna do it, but if you are not really sold on the red/white/blue...I would drop one of the colors. Maybe red, blue and black, or red, black and white or something like that. I am having red bm dresses and they are carrying white flowers, while I will carry red flowers. The GM are wearing red ties and vests with their black tuxes, while Joel is wearing a black or white vest/tie combo. Our theme is roses, so we are using red and white roses and using accents of black and silver. Good luck...I am sure that you will find something beautiful!!!
