It's been snowing here (Iowa) since 11am! It's not supposed to stop until 9pm. Then Saturday/Sunday/Monday it's supposed to snow!

I hate it. I'm moving south.

Sorry about the upcoming bad weather. I love the snow just not having to deal with it.

I remember two years ago being in NYC in the early part of April and it was snowing really heavy, and I was not prepared. It was so cold and the snow made it difficult to see (especially crossing streets). I didn't have a hat or umbrella--nothing. I'll always remember that experience. Maybe you should migrate down south during the winter septemberbride; florida is lovely this time of year.

Got room for two more people + business supplies? Oh and once my relatives find out where I am, they will be wanting to visit too :) LOL

We got snow last night, about 2 inches or so I think. Last Saturday we got freezing rain, and it was horrible! I had to go to work at 8:30 that morning when it was the worst. I ended up running a red light because I couldn't stop hehe! There was only one person around though. I'm not afraid to drive in it, its not that hard. So later that night at work, some people called in because "it was too bad outside", um newsflash...it warmed up and isn't icy anymore! I swear whenever the weather is bad, everyone who lives in town calls in but yet I live out of town and have only called in once for the weather...in 4 years! I think if people are living in this area, learn to drive in it!

On my way to work this morning at 6am and I saw a car in the ditch that was at a 90 deg. angle with it's front on the ground and trunk in the air! I also saw a mobile home completely rolled upside down and laying on its roof! Every time I saw a car in the ditch my tummy turned and I gripped tighter onto the wheel. I hate winter driving...

There is plenty of room, all are welcomed. You and all the snowbirds can exchange winter horror stories. That term is funny, snowbird, it refers to people who only live in Florida during the winter. I love when the local news use that term. Most tend to come from NYC. Everyone seems to be moving out of Florida to other states where the cost of living is cheaper.

I thought most snowbirds were from here (Quebec). I heard that in the winter and in some parts of FL, French is all you hear spoken :)

The term snowbird is used here too ..... it's all us Canadians (mostly retirees) flying south for the winter :)

I just saw that you are from Ames! I know a few people up there. I haven't seen any cars in the ditch yet, which is a good thing for them!
