I am in a baking mood right now, and was wondering what everyone's favorite holiday goodies are! I've been making Chex Mix and cookies lately.

I don't eat a whole lot of cookies throughout the year. But I love baking them! Hehe.

I like baking for other people. I also love haystacks (my mom always called them Chocolate Stix) and dipped pretzels...I make awesome ones!

I love making chocolate covered cherries. And I don't really like making this all that much, but I loooove eating it - Puppy Chow! Yum. I think that I may make some to take to the family party this year.

I love baking most anything. It doesn't always turn out, but it's fun!

Chris loves puppy chow! I found this recipe last year on kraftfoods.com and haven't tried it yet, but when you said that you make chocolate covered cherries, it reminded me of it! And I might try and make some truffles this year too.

Marshmallow Cherry Kisses

http://www.kraftfoods.com/assets/recipe_images/Marshmallow_Cherry_Kisses.jpg

Prep Time: 15 min
Total Time: 40 min
Makes: 8 servings, 2 kisses each1 pkg. (8 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate

16 maraschino cherries with stems

16 JET-PUFFED Marshmallows

MELT chocolate in small saucepan on low heat, stirring occasionally. Place in small bowl; cool slightly. Meanwhile, drain cherries and thoroughly pat dry.

MAKE indentation in each marshmallow with your finger, then insert 1 of the cherries into the hole, leaving 1/3 of the stem end of the cherry exposed. Using a fork to support the bottom of the marshmallow, dip the marshmallow into the chocolate, turning to evenly coat the cherry. Gently shake off excess chocolate.

PLACE on wax paper-covered baking sheet; cover. Refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes or until set. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

That is such an interesting take on the chocolate covered cherry. The recipe I usually use is sooo time consuming. This would be an easy and different thing to bring to Christmas. It's so pretty as well. I just got some vegetarian marshmallows that I've been looking forward to doing something with too!

Yep. Marshmallows, jello, gums, etc have animal gelatin in them so some veggies (like me) choose not to eat those. There are some gelatin subs that you can use like Agar Agar and Carrageen that can be used to make these types of products instead.

Hmm...that's interesting, I never would have known that! I know that a lot of things are organic though.

I like to make these layered cookie bars during the holidays. It is done in a 13x9 in baking pan; start with a grahm cracker crust then sweetened, condensed milk, then add a layer of coconut, then chocolate and butterscotch chips and chopped walnuts on top and bake at 350 for like 20-30 mins ... yum!

I also make frosted sugar cookies :)

I don't like coconut but it sounds easy. I might make cut out cookies this year if I have time, I haven't made them for a while.
