Ok, I need the help from some of you computer Savvy girls ...
I want to download a free font ... like the kind that looks like calligraphy/swirly/elegant for my DIY programs. I have found a few ... then I have downloaded them ... THEN WHAT? I read somewhere about having to "unzip the file"????

Can anyone post step by step instructions on what to do?
I have MS Word and WordPerfect on my computer ... I don't know if you need that or not.

THANKS!!!!

Hopefully, I remember all the steps...

When you download the font file (zip file), open it.

On the lefthand side, click "Extract All Files."

A window will pop up and ask where you want to extract the files to. You will need to send it to your font folder. (C:\WINDOWS\Fonts)

Click next. Then finish.

Hope that helps!

You have to go to your computer's "Control Panel" through the Start menu. Then go to "Fonts" and open that folder.

Then open/extract/unzip the file with the new font in it and drag it to the 'Font' folder a viola :D

haha - that should work too; never thought about doing it that way. Sometimes there are other "read only" files in with the fonts that don't need to go to in the Font folder. Plus for me, I don't load the ones that have limited user rights and such, so I like to open them and see what else if anything is there with it.

Or if it came with an install program, with many fonts, it should be able to locate the folder by itself, if not, the above steps should work.
I had found a program with some 1500+ fonts, just can't remember the name of it. I'll try to see if I can locate it for you if you like, it has lots of diffrent caligraphy styles.
