DH and I have a king size Serta matress on a frame that he built. It has drawers on the bottom and a cool headboard :)

This pics is a little old, but it is the only pic I have.

Before we got the bed we have now we had a waterbed that I hated, but DH loved.

So what kind of bed do you have?

Very cool!

We used to have a California King. Great for us and the dogs. Who would've thought a Chihuahua would be such a beg hog?!?! LOL However, it was a pain to move, so we eventually downsized to a queen for the time being. When we buy a house, though, we're definitely going back to a king.

That is the coolest headboard ever!!! He is so dang crafty!!!

We just have a king size bed with wooden headboard. I wanted to get a newer one but FH put a halt to that b/c he says that I got rid of all of his other furniture so we had to keep his favorite peice ... his bed.:frogg:

Queen size here! The kings are nice and roomy, but we didn't need one that big.

Who would've thought a Chihuahua would be such a beg hog?!?!LOL - I know, I am surprised that our two small dogs (though a little bigger than a chi) can take up so much room in the bed ;)

Do all of your dogs sleep with you?

Yeah. The two little ones (~6lbs and 10lbs) usually sleep at our feet. The biggest sleeps anywhere there is room, but she usually manages to find a spot next to me and sleeps under the covers with her head on the pillow like this.

We don't have a bed yet, and when we're married chances are we will have 2 single beds pushed together for a few months :p

We are getting a King size to accommodate the 2 cats and 1 dog we have that like to sleep in the bed. I have always had a queen but since we are buying a new one, we may as well go big! We are even having our blueprints altered so it will fit between the windows.

We only have a queen size bed, but that is plenty big...none of our pets sleep with us. I want my little puppy too, but he is still too little and FH says that the dogs takes up his cuddle time! We dont have a headboard and I want on so bad, but FH says they are a waste...I want a canapy type one though! Not the little girl kind but the ones with four posts...I dunno how to discribe it:purplex:

I believe the mattress is a Sears brand. Now if the pillow top mattress wasn't comfortable enough, I had to go out and get a feather bed too. Oh and I love quilts but I also love down duvets so I got a cheap n' chearful quilt and made a duvet cover out of it (hanging under the window). Oh and then I got another white on white quilt which is a little lighter, for the summer (on the bed). Oh and I also found another cheap n' chearful quilt at a garage sale - too good of a deal to pass up (at the foot of the bed).

Oh and I would love to have one of those swedish Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress toppers to put between the pillow top mattress and the feather bed but, DH says he has to draw the line somewhere

Perhaps, I have a deep desire to live out a "princess and the pea" fantasy?

I loved my waterbed too ..... it was always warm and always soft :)

We don't live together yet, but we've decided we definitely want a queen. I have a full at school and it's a tad too small, but a king is just more space than we need. We also super want a memory foam mattress, but since they don't come cheap I guess we'll have to see!

*ears perked up* Ohhhhhhh and does she sell? One of these days I am going to commission someone to do one for me. Or perhaps I will find the time to take a class and make it myself. I would even love to own an antique quilt.

I once knew a lady who learned from her mother, who learned from her mother and so on. Her quilts had won prizes & ribbons, someone from the Toronto Blujays had bought one of her quilts and some others were bought and sent all around the world. She had a room dedicated to her quilting and a frame just shy of the size of this room. Sadly, I didn't have the money to buy one from her .... $400 and up.

Well right now she's just making some for people in our family, she does wall hangings and stuff too. It seems like it takes her sooo long to finish one! She wants to start a craft business but doesn't have time and money to do so right now. I would love to help her do it, but I can't do sewing like she does! LOL. I can make raggedy flannel quilts. They're more like throws.

LOL no, no, the room is the size of a pill box! We are always knocking into things :)

My brother built all of our furniture. He also made a hope chest for me, which isn't showing in the photo. The mirror was actually a headboard from my friends bed. We painted, distressed and antiqued it. You could do it with a door though. It's easy enough to take out the windows. We collect old window frames, paint them up and put photos in the windows (the panes are normally 8 x10 or so).

I need to take a pic of our bedroom with our quilt on the bed. My mom made us one for the wedding, and I have another quilt that my grandma made me.

I just love my bed. My mom had to stop working when I was a kid because she was just too sick. With her last paycheck, she wanted to buy me something that would be a permanent fixture in my life. Something I would take with me when I get married, etc. She decided to buy me a bed. We shopped and shopped for several weekends and I picked out this beautiful four poster cherrywood bed. I'll always have that bed.

When my parents first got married they fell in love with this bed at an antique store. It was way too expensive and they didn't have that kind of money. They would go every month or so and see if the price was marked down any. They finally stopped going and about a year later they came into a little extra money and went back on the chance that it was still there - it was! My dad still sleeps in the bed - over 35 years later!

Now I also have a bed set that belonged to my great great grandmother and we plan to take that with us when we move.

Our "frame" is just some 2x4's nailed together that I did 4 years ago when we bought our first mattress set. (before that, we'd been sleeping on a boxspring that was free) Our mattress is a queen size. In college we had, of course, a full size bed, but I miss it because that's when we cuddled the most! :hi: But I guess my queen is better than a king. Over Thanksgiving on vacay, we slept in a king bed and it was just too big! I hated it.

Ya know I've seem some studies that claim a smaller bed is better for the relationship because it causes more cuddling. I guess that would be true in your case!

We have a queen, 4 post bed. I love it. It is plenty big for us for now. We like dogs and all, but I'm not sure that when we get one it will sleep with us, I don't like dog hair all over my stuff.

BUT I do tend to sleep all over the bed... like I'll be half way on top of Matt in the morning lol. So he may eventually want a king lol

We have a full size bed from when Steve lived at home. It came with us.. We didn't have a frame or anything, so it was on the floor for a while until my aunt found out and bought us the frame thingy so its not just laying on the floor. We don't have a headboard or anything. I want a new bed, but they are expensive, and its not something we'll be able to afford until we can afford a house or something (HAH).

We have a queen with a split box spring. WE dont even have a frame right now. The box spring sits on the floor. But the mattress is so thick that it is high enough without the frame. So no frame mean no head board. Our bed room is on the 3 floor which means part of the room has slanted ceilings. So we couldn't have one if we wnated one.

Our bedroom is ugly but I love our bed. It is the only major piece of furniture Jon and I bought new when we moved in together. It's a queen and perfect for us. I didn't know when I bought the red comforter and lamps that our bedroom would have pink carpet, blinds, and walls, Eww. Too late now. You can see why our wedding colors are black and red though...

If you look closely you can see our dog crouched inside the left nightstand looking out the window. He does it all the time, haha.

Hehe I ve been thinking about this! I havent read the study you mentioned but it makes sense!!
We definately will get a queen bed for our new house!
Due to lack of bed and home of our own, a couple of times we managed to sleep together for at least 2 hours on a sofa (noon siesta ;) )

Here is our bedroom now. It's a queen size bed. We really need a new one, but it will have to wait! There is no way we are shoving another mattress up those stairs!

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/wukatie2000/IMG_1329.jpg

My mom made the quilt for our wedding present. It's the second most pieces she has ever made in a quilt, the first being the THREE 'Dear Jane' quilts she is working on. One for each child.

Here is a close up of the message on the wall. I put it up there when I had to move out, 2 months before the wedding. DH won't let me take it down!

We have a queen, but we really need a king, because both of us tend to sprawl out all over the bed! The dogs don't sleep with us. Right now the headboard isn't attached to the frame -- we had a terrible time moving it into the new house, and frankly, attaching the headboard was the least of our worries.

The practically brand new box spring is now out in the garage . . . we had to buy a split-top box spring (for an extra $200!) so that we could get our bed to work upstairs. The stairs were too low for a queen-sized box spring. I tell you what, that news -- that we had to buy a special box spring, particularly after we'd spent the whole day moving -- didn't make us happy, not one little bit.

It feels ok and all, but it's not the original box spring for my bed and it's taken me all these months to get used to it.

We have a queen, but would definitely upgrade to a bigger bed if our bedroom had enough room or was shaped different. Right now, we can't fit anything bigger than a queen in there. I always end up waking up to an elbow in my back or on my pillow...one time he had his hand on my head like it was a basketball. If he goes to bed before me, he takes up the whole bed and I can't get him to wake up to move over! I end up sleeping on the couch until about 4 or 5 in the morning, which is about the time that he ends up scooting over anyways. I can't wait until we move into a different house, I want a bigger bed sooo bad!

We have a queen bed and this often happens to me! I have gotten popped in the eye with a hand or two as well. LOL. He also always spreads his legs way out and I don't end up with very much room. Well, the other day he made a point to scoot all the way to his side before he spread out. We were laying there for about 5 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed his arm and pulled him over to his usual hogging the bed spot. He was too far away! :D I guess I'm just never satisfied!

We have a full size bed that we both hate. It was mine at my moms house when I was in high school. I hardly ever went to my moms so it sat there unused for a long time. It is just two mattresses because when my mom bought it the box spring wouldn't go up the stairs (they turned about half way up) so she took it back and just got another mattress. I bought a platform frame for it when we got our apartment. We want a king size bed soo bad and hopefully will be getting one with income tax refund in Feb. We have two small dogs with very long legs and they hog the bed!! They stretch all the way out leaving no room, every time i roll over I have to move their legs out of my way.
