that Pittsburgh is going to the Superbowl. I am so happy for the Steelers. I just don't care. My friend and I went to the mall today and we were like the only people there. Every sales person complained about having to miss the game to be at work. I already told Sean, no Superbowl party.

I am SOOOO excited that they're going! Now I can get Jason a Bettis SUPERBOWL jersey!

I've never really been into football, but I knew exactly who was playing who today and when...I'm all about the Steelers this year...I can't wait to surprise him with his gift!

I'm so happy for Bettis. He is such a nice and sweet guy. I don' tknow of anyone who could deserve this more than him. The team was really playing for him. This town is a madhoue right now though.

I think you are right Lacey. I don't really follow football either but I have always liked the steelers.

Im probably gonna get :chair: for this, but i was rooting against the Steelers. Sorry Lacey. I dont have anything against them, I just like the Broncos better.
 I bet against Pittsburg last year in the playoffs and won $50.

:chair: I'm just kidding. In all honesty I don't care as long as I don't have to watch the game. Sean has a line on some tickets witha friend and I am encouraging him to go so that I don't have to watch or hear about the game. I hope that they win and all, I just don't want to be involved.

I get weird looks when I mention that I watch football (and wrestling!) but I dont care. If its a team I like, I can watch, if not, I wont.

Well ladies it is official. Sean scored two tickets to the Superbowl. That means that I get a whole weekend to myself at home because he has graciously decided to take our best man, Doug, instead of me. I am however using this as leverage ot score some designer bridal shoes. I mean I don't know too many women who would encourage her fh to run off to the Superbowl for the weekend with his freinds. I think that is pretty cool of me and should be rewarded, don't you?

LOL. I agree with you Lacey. You do need to be rewarded for it!! That is awesome for him to get those tickets, and great for you also to have the weekend to yourself!!

That is cool of him to score some tickets...I can tell you of some decent hotels if he needs the info. My mama lives about 30 minutes from the stadium, so I know the area pretty well. Of course, there's always the casinos that he could stay at, but there's some nice hotels down Woodward too, not in the heart of Downtown Detroit (not where I would want to stay personally--fancy pants casino hotel or not). It's going to be a madhouse there!

Thanks so much Kelli. But I think that they want to avoid some of the insanity. So I think that they are driving out the night before and staying in Toledo. Then after the game they will be heading back to Toledo. Personally to me that is the smarter choice. He is so excited. It is like a little kid at Christmas.

I imagine...just make sure he leaves with PLENTY of time to get to the game from Toledo...it's an hour's drive normally...so I would plan about four or five hours if I was him...inevitably, that will be the weekend Michigan decides to close half of I-75 for construction...ya, they're stupid like that. I can say that, I was raised there--for the most part.

Here in PA they always close sections of the turnpike for things like Memorial Day or Labor Day or Fourth of July. Sean and I always joke about playing the game "count the orange barrel" when we go away for the weekend.

Michigan is NOTORIOUS for orange barrels. There's times I've seen them set up just so cops can double ticket fines (it isn't a law that workers have to be present).

You know Detroit is the second most unprepared city to host the Superbowl. I don't know what the first was, but I was surprised that it wasn't Detroit. I can't believe they got the Superbowl there...ok, I guess I should stop my Detroit bashing...lol

At least Bettis gets to go home. He's only played one other regular season game there (on Thanksgiving). The Steelers were the team the Lion's played at Ford Field for the Field Opener (obviously the Lions lost) but that was preseason.
