Beach Placecard holders

Anyone got ideas for beach themed place card holders? I found these, but would like to not spend 3.15pp. I'm totally willing to make something myself, just need some ideas. Anyone? Anyone?

I've seen cute placecards where the guests' names are written on sand dollars. You can put starfish in a box with sand, and a tag with the guests' names on them tied to it. Or little bottles (like a message in a bottle thing) with a scroll and their name. Here are some pics: http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/05/24/placecard-display-ideas/

Not sure how you can DIY something like you posted above though.
