Very pretty!! I don't even know if we're doing a tree or decorations this year. We're so busy since our wedding is right after Christmas, but I'd love to see everybody else's decorations. I love them!

We also have lights outside on the frame of the house, lit potted trees on the porch and a wreath, but I haven't taken pics of that yet :frogg:

Brandi...I never would have taken you for a big decorator! LOVE IT!!!! SOOO beautiful! Thanks :frogg:

I wouldn't say we are "big decorators" but we like to decorate for Christmas; I love my tree :grinhappy: I am just not a fan of snowy, santa, cutesy, traditional type things ;)

DH gets into it so it is something we can do together; although he does most of the outdoor stuff himself. In fact, he does most of it all, I just help put the ornaments on the tree :ginger:

I did my decorating today - my front window, the railings, the walls - hung the stockings - we just have to get a new tree, ours was ruined in a flood we had the basement (I loved that tree).

We are also going to decorate this weekend...our first christmas in our own house, so I'm excited! I have the Willow Tree nativity Set and I CANNOT wait to put it up lol. However, I have always had real trees, and Stephen wants a fake one, so I am compromising this year but I'm not very excited about it :(. I will just have to spend more time at my parents b/c they will have a real tree.

Mine has been up for a week now, just waiting on one last ornament, for the pic taking. Then I'll have pics posted.
By the way Brandi, can I hire you for next years decorating?

I love your tree!

We won't be putting ours up until after the first because we are getting a real one and we don't want it to die before Christmas. I can't wait though!

Ahw :( I'd be bummed too if I didn't get a real tree. Jon's mom usually does a fake one because of the cats and dogs she has and less hassle for her, etc. So he wanted to at one point, but it was the one thing I put my foot down about. I HAVE to have a real tree, you just can't replace the smell in the house. Picking one out at the city is still a different experience for me though, haha. I'm used to just going and chopping one down in the boonies back in Alaska ^-^

We'll probably get ours soon. Not much else we do to decorate. This place is too tiny!

My tree wont go up untill the 8th ( my birthday ). We do it every year on my Birthday it is one tradation I love having. The kids know when it will go up so they dont have to keep asking. I will get the tree this coming weekend and set it on my porch so the limbs will fall open. As for the rest of the decorating we do it the same time. I got a new dining table this past summer so I need new things for that. We had a tiny one before and this one seats 6 so I need a new table cloth and lace mats and what not.

Oh, and I got the other ornaments last year after Christmas when it was on sale. Hehe, I love getting that stuff, I try to pick out a color for the next year, I need to get some more white lights, there aren't very many on the tree. I have bunches of colored lights that I need to find a use for...I might put them on our balcony. And I didn't put a whole bunch of tinsil (sp? lol) on the tree because it was being very staticy.

My only worry this year is the warnings people just noticed on the back of Christmas lights. Anyone else's local news do stories on that? Guess what the warning is for? Lead :(!

Supposedly it's just fine if you wash your hands right after doing the lights, and the warnings have been there before with little notice. But with all the recent happenings, ugh!

Here is my 3-footer, with the two big stockings being mine and FH's, and then the little stockings are for our furry children. All white lights and silver ornaments. Kind of an un-traditional tree-skirt, just some scrap light green patterned fabric I had... I actually like it better than any red/white/silver tree skirt I've seen! And of course, my holiday friends... including the Abominable Snowman holding two ornaments with our names on them, and my favorite, Jack from the Nightmare Before Christmas.

I love my lights! Especially my stars! Except for the lights along the roof, I did them all by myself. It's my first time, but I really really wanted to... I think because it's our first Christmas in our first house!

Oh, and I made the wreath on the front door. Just a $5 green wreath from Walmart. I sprayed it with fake snow, then added silver bows and white ornaments around it. Then a glass star ornament hanging down in the center of it!

Here's our first Christmas tree (Douglas Fir), as hubby and wifey. My hubby said its name is Douglas, heheh! We are going to buy ornaments and a topper. We have our first Christmas ornament on the tree, a silver bell that says "Christmas 2007". Navy blue and silver will be our colors. Happy Holidays, everyone! :)

Only if it's good CHRISTMAS wine!! lol

And I thought you had already lost your marbles....by working full time AND having a business!!!!!

I guess that is the proof that I have lost my marbles :)

Now for that Christmas wine ...... the only traditional one I know is Glühwein (mulled wine) and it is NUMMIES!!!!

Ingredients

4 quarts dry red wine (zinfandel, merlot, burgundy, etc.)
1 pint brandy
1 cup sugar
6 cinnamon sticks
12 cloves, whole
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp mace
2 oranges, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
Directions

Pour the wine into a large pot and begin heating over low heat.
As it begins to warm, add sugar and spices. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Add the brandy.
Heat thoroughly, but do not allow to boil!
Add the lemon and orange.
Steep for about 1 hour over low heat.
You may add more sugar during this time if desired, stirring well so it disolves.
Serve hot and garnish with orange slices. A stick cinnamon could also be used.
See also: Mulled Wine

Note: This recipe serves 12-15.

Here is our tree. As you can see the kdis do the ornaments lol. The angel on top was made by my grandmother. It has been on every tree since I ahve been on my own. I love it. It is my favorite part. There are a few bulbs on the tree you just can't see them. Most of the ornaments are home made by the kids or gifts so they have ours or the kids names on them. Or we get them from craft fairs. You can kinda see the lights. WE have medium size lights. I don't care for the tiny ones on my tree but I use them around the house. We have to finish putting up the things aroudn the hosue at some point today.

Everyone has such pretty trees!

We put our tree up last night/this morning... A lot of the ornaments are handmade and have been part of my Christmas tree since I was really young.

It's hard to tell, but the tree is about 7 feet tall. We have it sitting on a set of old end tables to keep our biggest dog's tail from knocking off any of the breakable ornaments. Her "happy tail" is brutal. LOL

so..... we started decorating and it didnt turn out so well. we took my aunts old tree and turns out its 9 ft tall (we have cathedrial ceilings so thats fine) but its like 5-6 feet WIDE at the bottom and around-- so as it is, we have it in the middle of the living room, yet its right there by the window too-- its soooo big we couldnt find ANYWHERE to put it.. we have like 10-12 ornaments and we didnt have enough garland/lights--- tomorrow we will e changing everything and doing it right hahah!!!!
anyways thought i would share pics even though it wont stay like this.. nobody was here to take our pics with the tree so we took it with the camera phone and we got A LITTLE bit of the tree with us in the corner.

Well, we waited too long and have been too busy (and too cold) to get a Christmas tree this year. So I decided to surprise FH and decorate tonight while he was asleep. When he gets up for work at 1am, he'll see it.

Thought I'd take some pics to put here!

The palm tree we have in the living room is now our Christmas tree. LOL

The smaller palm tree has 3 stuffed monkeys hanging in the branches. I wrapped the limbs with red ribbon and gave each monkey a candy cane. Heheh!

Looking good ladies. Just remember, with all the decor, comes that electric bill. Then again, it's all well worth it.
