A theme with a difference? ummmm ... that might take some thinking on ... what do you like?

Some comon themes I have seen before are: the Cinderella/Prince Charming thing, the Butterfly thing, the Beach theme, a couple of the girls here are doing sort of a Western theme. I saw one wedding where they did a Mickey & Minnie Mouse theme.

I that didn't help much huh ... well I guess these are some to stay away from if you are looking for something different and/or never done before ;)

Welcome and I am one of the girls using the western theme but I am mixin git with a rainbow theme. There are many ways to make it different. The reasons for my theme has meaning to both of us. Think of something that you two have in common or love to do. I am sure you can come up with something. Good luck!

Here's my idea, although I don't know if you guys do this in England, but if you want a theme with a difference, why don't you choose a theme that makes a difference:

Here's a couple of examples (if I were you I would choose something that is close to you):

1. Whales: if you like whales and dolphins and such, use blue colors in your wedding and have whales and dolphins as you centerpieces. THEN, get adoption information for all of your guests, or make a donation in the name of all your guests(Lacey's doing that)
You could do this for any type of animal nowadays. Are you a guru for greyhounds, have a roaring 20s raceday theme to your wedding and then look into the greyhound rescue society (this could work for horses as well). It would be fun to have 20s themed wedding. Think of My Fair Lady...oh the hats!

2. Lots of causes have ribbons associated with them; i.e. breast cancer has a pink ribbon. Theme your wedding to that color and then hand out the ribbons as favors (or the car magnets if y'all have them over there). This is another idea I've picked up from this board. You could also tie the ribbons into bouquets and centerpieces as well.

These are just thoughts; I got the impression you were looking for something different than the norm. Good luck choosing a theme, congrats on the engagement, and welcome to the board!

Well, I was just going to agree with Kelli about the charity theme but I gotta 'Spread the love' with the Reputation thingy ;)

But yeah, I think that would be great.

Another idea ... I saw a Mardi Gras theme wedding reception once.
