So, tonight we went to Joel's mom's for dinner...which was excellent!!! Afterwards I convinced Joel to take me shopping...woo hoo!!! I got a skirt and top for my shower next weekend and a dress for the rehearsal dinner. The dress is very similiar to the one in this pic, but instead of teh silver swirly design mine has is black solid and black with white roses and leaves!! The same angled strips and halter style top!!! It is cute and was on sale!!!

I know this isn't wedding related, but I just wanted to tell you all that I am sooooo excited today. Joel and I are going to the Goo Goo Dolls/Counting Crows concert tonite!!! The Goo Goo Dolls are my FAVORITE band ever...which is saying alot because I am a music fanantic and love so many genres and different singers/bands. I have never been to one of their concerts and I am just reallly excited!!!

Well ladies...the concert was a disappointment!!! I have been waiting to see GGD in concert forever and they only did about 11 songs and 5 of them were from their new album, so I didn't even know them. My theory is that they were saving their good performance for Buffalo tonite, since that is their hometown!!! I was very disappointed. Counting Crows were really good, but they weren't what I went for, so I was still disappointed. I did get a pretty cool GGD zip up jacket...because Joel loves me and actually spent $60 on it. I am kinda glad that I bought it before the concert, because after their piss poor performance I was pretty mad and probably wouldn't have been in any mood to buy it!!!!

That does make it hard. My niece and nephew are four hours away and Matt's three nieces are all in Germany, so I can totally sympathize with you on your feelings. It never gets easier, especially when they are learning to talk or to walk or any of those things.

When I sat down to write these vows, I thought about all the ways that I could tell you how much that I love you and how lucky that I am to be spending the rest of my life with you. I remember when we first started dating I told you that finding you made up for all of the relationships that I had had in the past that didn’t quite work out. And I remember you telling me that that was a lot for you to carry and live up to. Well, I was right! Finding you and being lucky enough to be the one that you fell in love with is more than I could ever ask for, and more than makes up for the wrong turns and rough patches I encountered on the way. Today I will begin a new journey, and although I am sure that along the way there will be bumps and detours, I know that in the end I will find happiness. Today I will become your wife and that means that from this day forward I will never have to make it through those detours alone. I know that everyday you will be there, supporting me, loving me, and comforting me through it all. I know that through all of the wonderful experiences, the happy moments, and the once in a lifetime occasions you will be there by my side. Your vows are very sweet. I would edit out a line or two of the introduction before you actually get to the vows just because people are going to space out. As for the length, it should be fine. When we are nervous we tend to talk alot faster than we normally do so you are going to plow right through them. Unless of course you are used to a lot of public speaking. Practice, practice, practice them though. Stand in front of a mirron and read them to yourself. You want to really have a good pace with them because like aI said, you are going to be nervous standing up there and you are going to be emotional too. So you need to have a good feel for what you are saying.

I will have to say that if you can pull that off more power to you...I was driving down the road yesterday and listening to that new song I posted about and bawled! Today I was turning at a stop light and was crying so hard I couldn't see if the light was green or red! Nothing's wrong I was sitting there practicing saying "I DO" and started boohooing!

I am all sappy and emotional right now, if you do that (and I have no doubt you will) I will be eternally humbled in your presence!

If I tried it it it would come out all high pitched and accompanied by sniffs and sobs and deep breaths...I can't hear his voice right now without getting all emotional!

OK Ladies....I have had a HORRIBLE DAY!!!!...I am hoping that you all have noticed that I have not been around at ALL today!!! I am just in shock...the day has been devastating!!! I guess I will start with why: my best friend and MOH's house caught on fire last night and burnt to the ground. They have nothing. By the grace of GOD they all survived and got out without any serious injuries. She, her mother, her mother's husband, and my 9 month old godson are homeless. They had no homeowner's insurance, because they lived in Detroit and 99.9% of people don't have it because it is too high and they are too poor. They lost EVERYTHING.....EVERYTHING!!!! They are already poor, her mother has is disabled, but gets no assistance yet, Tiffany hardly makes anything and gets no child support and her stepdad makes $6 an hour working part time!!!! Red Cross came out and set them up in a hotel for 2 nights and gave them a voucher to get some clothes and food necessities. That is all they have!!!! I just don't know what to do, or how to help them. I went over there when she called me at 2am and have been with her since.....I just got home!!!! I took her to get her stuff with the voucher, to the hotel, helped them put stuff away, and bought them some stuff that they couldn't get with the voucher!!! Ithen drove her back over there to get her car, which had also been dmaged, because it was in the driveway, and to dig through rubble to try and find anything that was salvagable. So, I am dirty, smoky exhausted, depressed, shocked and completely out of it. I don't know what way is up!!! I want to help, but don't have a clue where to start or what to do. I mean my BF and her family barely escaped death in a burning house. They had to unlock a armor guard door to get out and Tiffany dropped the keys in the process....and they lost everything. I just want to help. I have prayed, I went and did all that I could do for the moment, but I want to help them start new...and have no clue where to start!!!! I feel guilty because I am having a Bridal Shower on Sat. where I will be getting all these new things....and ther have nothing!!!! I also feel horrible, because, and I know that this sounds rotten, but the centerpeieces and prizes for my shower were in there, and she was supposed to do and send out my bachelorette party invites today and of course will not be able to do that at all, so I will ahve to pay for her half of the food for the shower and plan and pay for my own bachelorette party. This is last on my list of worried, of couse, but I am human and I am still concerned, because I don't have the money to do it!!!! Plus money was always an issue with her, so I really think she is gonna have to drop out of the wedding now!!! Anyways, out of selfish mode....I feel really guilty that I am about to have a $17,000.00 when she has nothing!!! Any advice, prayers, kind words, or ideas on how I can help would be oh so greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support and for reading this...I love you gals!!!!

I will pray for them and you. There are alot of local churches here that have relief funds in place for victims such as them....I would suggest contacting churches (pull out the phone book and start calling) they all know what the others do and will be able to direct you to get the some help.

Stay calm, don't feel guilty about your beautiful wedding, this isn't your fault! This is a suggestion and ONLY a suggestion,,, if you feel that you have more than enough after your shower maybe if you get some gift cards or cash you could share it with her and her family...ONLY A SUGGESTION, DO NOT GUILT YOURSELF INTO IT! You and Joel need those things too but if you get lots of stuff or duplicates even then maybe it would work out, talk to Joel, see what he says....

I believe that people will dig down deep and bring the things aroudn their homes that they no longer need and perhaps some may even purchase some things brand new. I hope that people look deep inside themselves and help your MOH! I also hope that some may donate a little money so that she may still be in your wedding party!! :) Take care Angel!

I was so sorry to read what has happened to your MOH Angel. You are doing all that you can do by being there and offering emotional support to them. That means a lot in this situation. My BIL and SIL lost everything they own as well a few weeks ago in a house fire. It meant a lot to them just being there for them, and a shoulder to lean on. They to were given vouchers for clothing and some supplies as well. I agree with Ellen, check with the local churchs and see if there is anything they can do. Most churchs set aside money for victim assistance. Ours does and helped out our family as well. I pray that everything works out for you and for them. Is there any type of shelter in your area that might be able to give them a place to stay after the motel voucher has ran out? Or possibly some assistance to stay somewhere else? If I think of anything else I will let you know. Once more I will pray for them.

Well ladies tommorow is my 1st bridal shower!!! It has really been a drama filled planning process, so I really hope that things turn out ok...especially since some of the stuff was lost in my MOH's house fire!!! I also hope that alot of people bring donations for her and her family, because I know how badly she needs them. I am excited about my shower though, although it is outdoors and it is gonna be 93 degrees and muggy as h311 here tomoorow!!! There shoudl be great food adn alot of fun stuff!!!! Plus I get to see my friends and get presents!!! My boss can't make it to my shower tommorow, so she gaec me my gift today and it is awesome....I love it soooo much!!!! I always feel weird when she gives me something..IDKW!!! Anyways she got me the platter and chip and dip set that I registered for at Penney's. She said that there is something else that will be there on Monday...but I think that what she got me was more than enough!!!

OK ladies here is my bridal shower update!!!!

The weather was horrid and people were miserable, but they stuck it out for me. The tables and stuff looked awesome and beautiful and I had a great time!! The food was great...the cake was great...the people were great!!! I got alot of presents....most of which I registered for!!! We got 2 sets of pots and pans, a ton of bakeware, drinking glasses, wine glasses, a bunch of picture frames, a corkscrew, a cutting board, meat tenderizer, rolling pin, tongs, casserole dishes, some lingerie (lol), towels, table cloth, a salt and pepper grinder set, measuring cups, a picture/plaque for our wall, the platter and chip and dip bowl from my employers, cooling racks, napkin rings, a george forman grill, gift cards, checks, and money!!! That about sums it up!!! Now it is time for pictures!!!!

So...I loved my arch...it was a surprise from Joel's mom!!! I wanted to get picture underneath with just Joel and I, and some with his mom and such....but it was so very hot out that by teh time it as over and we could do it...I forgot...so I am disappointed about that, but other than thata dn the horrid heat...my shower was so awesome!!!

Yeah...we worked through it...like I had originally posted...I was upset with her, but she had her reasons and I still love her. She has actually been very awesome through this whole thing with Tiffany's house burning down. She doesn't even really know Tiffany and she brought over loads of stuff for her on Saturday. She has even secured offers for some furniture adn volunteered to use her parents truck to transport. She has been great. She is a friend and I didn't want to lose her over a misunderstanding. She has another wedding to be in on the same night...and the funny thin is is that they are right around the corner from each other!!!

OK Ladies!!! I went for my first official dress fitting today...the one where they actually pinned me for alterations and for my bustle!!! I went with a french under bustle!! My dress is sooooo heavy and I was soooo hot...but everytime I go in and try the dress on everyone in teh store tells me how beautiful it is...which reassures me that I made the right choice!!! Now...my next appointment is for 8/26 for my final fitting!!! The good news is that I will be able to wear a 2 inch heel, but I still won't be able to get the shoes that I wanted. The bad news is that my alterations are costing me $150.00...ouch!!! All they are doing is taking in the bust and the bustle. That just seems really expensive to me!!! IDK...maybe not!!!

I am sure that they will all llok very handsome!!! All of the tuxes have been ordered and paid for.

The dresses...well that is a different story..lol!!! Well the shower was very disappointing. Apparently we were competing with a baby shower and the Henry County Fair....lol!!! Well..excuse the hell out of me..lol!!! Anyways we got soem checks and money and cards and a really nice fleece throw with our names and wedding date on them. There were two really disappointing things though. One, his grandparent's (grandma's) gift to us was a box of canned goods...yes canned goods..amd to top it off, they were old canned goods..three of them were expired....I think that she is either losing it or believes that we are still loving in the depression. Then one of his mom's cousins (who is like the black sheep) gave us a check for $20.00 and then called ME....yes me, not Joel, over and asked me if I could wait a couple weeks to cah the check....sheesh!!! Anyways...it was disappointing that his mom (man I love this woman) put so much energy/effort/thought into this shower and hardly anyone showed up...blah!!!!

Angel, I am sorry your shower was a dissappoinment to you. That is an odd gift to give someone. But if it makes you feel any better my first husbands grandparents bought us the makings for cooking breakfast for one morning. They thought this a nice gift. I had to keep from laughing when I opened up bacon, eggs and a loaf of bread. But it was the thought that counted. At least that is what i kept telling myself. I honestly dont know what I would do if I opened up a gift like that. Jonathan's grandmother would really do something like that (I think) and she has wierd rules about gifts... Consistancy is key though...

Nick (Jonathan's brother) got a knitted washcloth sized blanket... i think they used it as a decorative thing... the person got pissed when she came to visit because it wasnt being used properly... I dont know what I would say.

Okay Ladies...so we have finally decided on the details for our rehearsal dinner. The dinner itself will be at a steakhouse called Montana's. The guests will be able to choose from the following menu:

1. Grilled Chicken Caeser Salad
2. Half Chicken Dinner-Herb Roasted Chicken

Everything except the salad and pasta are served with soup/salad and choice of potato!!!

Angel's Kickass Bachelorette Party: Woo Woo!!!!

Okay ladies...after a looooong day of recovering I am now ready to fill you all in on my Bachelorette Party!!! OMG it was soooooooo AWESOME!!! We had sooooo much fun...especially me. So, I will give ya the hour by hour play by play of my Saturday...lol:

9:30 am - I woke up and had to call Tiffany (MOH) because the Pure Romance consultant that was supposed to do our party cancelled and said she would find a replacement and never called back. Tiffany and I searched for other consultants and Tiff called them and Angela (the original consultant). Luckily around 11:30 am she talked to Angela, who said that she was just gonna do the party...whew...Angel was able to calm down again...lol!!

That kinda takes us to 12:00 - Where I started to get ready, because I was going shopping with FMIL and FSIL before the party. We had a good time and FMIL bought me a purse to go with my red top that I wore out that night!!!

So, fast forward to 3:30pm - I get back home and I have to finish getting ready for the night. I did my hair and applied my make-up and got dressed...I looked cute..lol!! Heather (FSIL) went home to get ready and meet her friend, who was coming out with us, and was supposed to be back about 4:00 pm, so we could head down to my SIL Jayme's where the party started. Well Jayme called me and said that she was running late, so not to get there until 5:00...which was the start time, but I was gonna try and get there early. I called Heather and left her a message telling her not to rush that she had about 20 minutes extra. SO, anyways my friend Dawn got to my apartment around 4:20 and Heather and Danielle arrived around 4:45.

4:45 - Joel drove us all down to SIL's and dropped us off at about 5:20, so I was late for my own party..lol!!!


5:20 - We arrive at Jayme's house. Jayme, her friend Chrissy, Tiffany and my friend Ami are there...plus Dawn, Heather, Danielle and I. My awesome friend and BM Charlene, who planned and paid for most of my party, had left to pick up her friend. SO, we all talked for a bit and started to eat...it was yummy food. We had chicken salad croissant sandwiches, mini subs, veggies, salad, pasta salad, chili-cheese dip with tortilla chips, and my favorite part...chocolate covered strawberries....yummy!!!! Then we promptly started to drink...jello shots, sex on the beach and cosmopolitans. Around 5:50 Charlene and her friend Janet arrived and since she was the only one with a car we ran to the store for ice. Also, I had a friend who lived around the block from SIL's that had not shown up or called, so we went by there. She was sitting on her couch in jeans and a big T-shirt and refused to come. She gave me like 4 excuses: I have nothing to wear, I have no money, I'm not ready, and I don't feel good. I just turned around, walked out and left!!!

6:10 pm - we get back to the house and my friend Sara was arriving and the Pure Romance consultant was there. We go in and everyone else gets some food and some drinks and the PR party started at about 6:40.....about 40 minutes late. Angela...the consultant...was awesome and everyone really enjoyed her personality and the party...she made it all flow so smoothly. Unfortunately since I was the guest of honor...I was the automatic volunteer for all the embarrassing stuff...lol. So I got to hold the blue dildo and demonstrate how to make him hard and I even got to get tied up...it was quite entertaining..lol!!!

7:00 - The PR party continued!!! We kept drinking and having fun!!!

8:00 - The PR party was over and it was time for people to place their orders...so while the rest of us went outside and drank...people placed orders. I ended up getting a $26.00 gift and $56.00 to spend on product. After my order I only owed $20.00 so that was cool. Plus Angela had brought a lot of stuff, so everyone got their stuff that night!!!

9:00 - My friends Jackie and Sarah that I used to work with arrived to come out with us... I then opened my gifts. I got a giant red pecker sucker...lol from Janet. Charlene got me a bunch of stuff. I got a very interesting Bachelorette crown and a book of 10 Bachelorette tasks..some wonderful plastic boobs that they actually thought that I was gonna wear out..lol, a key chain, and candles. Then from Dawn I got a very nice white lingerie set...it was very "wedding night" appropriate. I also got a gift card to Victoria’s Secret from Jackie and Tanya (who couldn't make it)!!!

9:20 - The limo arrived.

9:40 - we actually make it out and all into the limo. We end up driving around for like 30 minutes, cause the limo driver is completely unfamiliar with the area and drove about 20 miles an hour.

10:15 - We arrived at first bar. We got to sit in VIP section and we just drank and danced and I started completing my tasks..lol. So first I found a bald guy and kissed him on the forehead...he was the bouncer..lol!!! Then the gals had to find 3 guys and bring them to the table and I had to ask them their names and ask then how long their penises were and write that down. They were Greg, Kevin, and Chris..lol!! Then I had to stand on my chair and yell proudly and firmly that I was getting married and the do a little dance. Then I had to find the first guy white socks and make out with him. That ended up being Kevin again...he got a brief french kiss...and that was all the making out. Then I had to find a divorced guy and ask him to list three things that you should not do in bed if you want to stay married: 1. Don't call out another girls name; 2. Don't call out another guys name; 3. Don't go limp ( I don't think that I will have that problem). The 6th task was that the girls had to find the hottest guy in the bar (they had to agree) and then I had to seduce him into buying me a drink...and was told that I could do this however I wanted....so I just told him the truth and he bought me a shot of Patron and I kissed him on the cheek. Then "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy" came on and I had requested that, so I went to dance...lol!! After that I was given task 7...which was to find a guy with a condom and get him to give it to me...then I had to bring it back to the table and blow it up....but this proved more difficult than expected, since apparently men don't practice safe sex anymore. I did end up finding one though, but I didn't blow it up...I gave it back...I figured that at least one guy was trying to stay safe...I did not want to be the reason that he wasn't that night. Task 8...I had to take a beer bottle and pretend that it was my FH's penis and kiss and lick it and then three of the girls had to rate me....I got a 10 and two 9.5 ratings. The 9th task was to go into the men's room and stay there for 2 minutes...well the bouncer wouldn't let me in, so we decided to keep that until the next bar. Throughout doing these tasks I danced...ALOT...drank too much...did some shooters from between Sara’s boobs and I must admit had a few too many intimate kisses with Ami on the dance floor...but hey the guys there were entertained...lol.

12:00 am - We ended up leaving the first place and headed to a dive karaoke bar. I sang Redneck Woman with Charlene, You Outta Know by Alanis Morrisette with Sara, B1tch by Merideth Brooks with pretty much all the girls, Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls with Heather, and then I invited myself on stage to sing Margaritaville with two very sweet guys. I also danced and drank ALOT here. There was this one guy on the dance floor that was just hogging me for himself...my girls kept having to steal me back from him...it was fun!!! Throughout all this dancing, singing and drinking I did complete my last 2 tasks. I went into the men’s room and Ami followed me, not realizing that it was the men's room...and she used it...lol!!! The tenth task was pretty simple and tame. I had to come up with 4 things that men do that really annoy us women and get everyone to agree on them: 1. Miss the **** toilet; 2. Turn their boxers/briefs inside out and wear them again (Joel's does not do this, but a lot of men do); 3. Leave a sip of something in the bottle/jug and then put it back into the fridge; 4. I can't remember..the book is at home, but I think that it had something to do with video games.

2:00 - We left after last call and started to take people home. We did not get to my apartment until 3:45. I stayed up talking to Joel about all the events of my night until like 5:00 am. All the girls who stayed at my place were fast asleep way before me....lol.

I never threw up or got sick and although I did have a hang over (headache and slight nausea the yesterday...I was alright. Danielle did throw up in the bathroom at the second place...but I luckily missed that.

So, anyways...this was the most fun I have EVER had...it was soooo awesome and perfect. I had fun with everyone and loved every second of it. I decided that I was three more...if I could get away with it...lol!!! It was fantastic!!!

***I had so much fun that I realized when I got home that I had never even found the time to go to the bathroom and break the seal!!!!

Okay, well I know that I have been neglecting to update... i have been busy...as Nikki pointed out (thanks Nikki), I only have 18 days left. Well, I have been working on getting some things taken care of. This weekend I almost finished the BM's gifts, I ordered the parents gifts (personalized frames with poems on one side and a picture on the other), I ordered the guest book and the programs that I have to print, and I am in the process of deciding on what I want for the meorial candle. I also went for my final fitting, got my shoes, my crinoline, my sister's (Matron Of Honor) dress, got my garter, and found the poem for the program that will be for the memory candle lighting for my mom.


These are the things that I can remember right off the top of my head that we still need to do!!!

1. Write Ceremony-Working on that today.
2. Joel Write Vows
3. Finish Bridemsaid Gifts
4. Hire Limo
5. Call/Email Officiant about details
6. Email Pics and list of poses to Photographer
7. Send Thank You Cards out for shower
8. Work on Seating Chart
9. Work on Speeches
10. Get Marriage License-Will do Thursday
11. Final Meeting with DJ’s-Will do Thursday
12. Send Montana’s our menu choices for Rehearsal dinner-Going there on Thursday
13. Get peoples orders for Rehearsal dinner-Working on it
14. Meet with Make-up artist-Will do on Wednesday
15. Go to meet with hair salon for consult-Will do on Friday

17. Go Crazy!!!!

Please let me know if there is anything that you might think that I left out. There are so many little details.

Well ladies, I have been neglecting to update here like I should be. I have been having some issues with feeling overwhelmed, and I guess if I don't write about them, they don't seem as real.

This week I sent the checks to the florist and photographer, ordered my memorial cylindar/floating candle thingy for my mom, finished writing my ceremony and sent that to the Reverend, finalized the menu for the rehearsal dinner, found a make-up person, scheduled my hair appointments, had the final meeting with out DJ's (who we unluckily found out were in the middle of a divorce, but still working together), received my programs and guestbook, and got my Marriage License. Oh yeah, and I went by the venue yesterday, just to do a little walkthrough and actually got to see it set-up for a wedding...that was exciting!!!!

Here is a funny story about the Marriage License for ya'll!!! We went to get it on Thursday, so with the Holiday I assumed that we would have to go pick it back up on Tuesday, well apparantly (without even asking us), the clerk just charged us $5 for a waiver and when I asked her what that was for she said so that we could just pick it up then. She stated that for extenuating circumstances the 3-day wait period that we have in MI can be waived. So.....the extenuating circumstances that she wrote down.......GAS PRICES!!!!! I personally just thought that that was hilarious!!!! Either way, now I don't have to go back up there, so whatever!!!

Well I got the limo squared away for the wedding, a room booked for my siblings, the seating chart and approximate guest count squared away and some of my questions answered from my cake decorator.....so all in all...it was a semi productive day...lol!!!

Well ladies there is only 4 days left and I am stressing.Almost everything is done. I have about 15 more programs to finish tying the ribbons on, I have to finish my seating chart, I have to pick up a few perishable items for my BM's gift bags, I ave to unpack that favors, I have to fax over the rehearsal dinner order, and email my photographer with the poses that FMIL has requested. Also, on Wednesday is the rehearsal and we were able to get them to let us in at 3 pm, so that we can set all the centerpeieces and favors up for Friday, which is sooooooo awesome and will save soooooo mcuh time. I work today and tommorow, but Wednesday I have to go pick up my dress and shoes and crinoline before teh rehearsal and teh dinner. I am soooooo stressed out right now. I am also suffering from that wonderful bride's insonia, so i can't sleep. My sister, her SO, and her two sons and my brother left yesterday morning driving from CO to get here. I am worried, because I have not heard anything. They were supposed to drive straight through and if they do they should be here by tonight at the latest. I just hope that they are safe and make it without too many problems, it is a 1500 mile drive. I feel like I have sooooo much to do and I just wish that it would all be done...lol!!! I am tired and soooo tense. There are some other things that I have to do, I just can't remember thrm right this minute. I do need to call and confirm everything with all of my vendors though.

Hey ladies...sorry that it took me so long to check in....I am sooo physicallya nd emotionally drained. The ceremony was sooooooo perfect and absolutely emotional, but I barely cried...lol. The reception was beautiful. As soon as I have more energy I will write all about it all.
