So I was just wondering, do any of you ladies have a really good cookie dough recipe for christmas cookies to cut out??? Or for press cookies? I am going to have a night with my mom and MOH and her daughter at my mom's house, we are going to do Christmas cookies, was just looking for any good recipes for the dough or websites with it?? Thanks...

Here is one I use ...

Tea Cakes (they are kind of like sugar cookies)

You need:

- 5 Tablespoons butter or margarine (melted)
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg white
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 3 cups self rising flour
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Prepare:

- Melt butter and mix with sugar in a large bowl
- Add egg white and vanilla
- Add milk and flour (one cup at a time)
*Refrigerate overnight*

Bake:

- Preheat oven to 350
- Using wax paper dusted in flour, roll out dough (approx 1/2 in thick) and cut into desired shapes
- bake 8 - 10 mins
* Makes 2-3 dozen

-- Allow to cool and enjoy

*Also great frosted or dusted with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. We tried adding those mini M&M's last year and those were good too. You could add just about anything you wanted, nuts, chocolate chips, whatever.

Aww that sounds like fun! My family makes chocolate cookies every year. I will try to find the recipe, but it's at my parents. Anyways, they are sooo good and we alwyas cut them into different shapes and put powdered sugar icing on them. It's so fun and they are so cute! We put the little colored hard sprinkle things on the trees as "ornaments." I'll see if I can get the recipe from them!

My MOH also wants to make peanut butter cookies, I just thought this would be a fun thing to do. She has always wanted to do this with her daughter so I decided why not have her and her daughter with me and my maw and we all make cookies!!!!

Has anyone ever see little mexican cookies that are green, pink, yellow layers and then covered in chocolate. My mom gets these from a bakery but are always hard to get because they are soooo good. But they apparently are a mexican traditionaly christmas "cookie" but looks like a mini brownie? I have no idea what the name is but would love to find a recipe....

Thank you to all that have posted recipes....

Speaking of recipes, I think that for my bridal shower I am going to have my mom put in the invited for the ladies to bring their fav recipe for me to put in a recipe box...!!!

The only "mexican" cookies I think of around Christmas time are the Mexican Wedding Cookies, also known as Russian Tea Cakes. Very crumbly with nuts in them, and rolled in powdered sugar. They just melt in your mouth!

I usually make them red and green and add a touch of peppermint to make them more Christmasy. Yes it's a word, cuz I say so!

If you are looking for cookies just mostly for the point of decorating, you can find good sugar cookie recipes all over the place. Heck, you could even buy the pillsbury dough to save time and buy a lot of decoration supplies. That's where the fun is at hehe!

You know I thought it was the wedding cookies, but its not. I found a reciped and read it and this cookie has no nuts in it... just a brownie like layers of pink, green, yellow, then covered with chocolate and chocolate sprinkles on it... i am racking my brain and keyboard trying to figure out what kind of cookies they are...

I have a really good sugar cookie recipe that doesn't need to chill before you roll them out. When I get home, I'll try to find it.

We also do gingerbread houses at Christmas. It's become a very necessary tradition at our house. Two years ago I tried to skip it and caught heck from the kids. I'll see about finding it too!!

I know those rainbow cookies. They are kind of like mini cake bites, right? I have seen them at the Publix bakery, but can't think of the name.

After a quick google, I think I found them. Here you go.
