I haven't really looked yet. But my FMiL bought a bunch at the Superstore that had developing included. She said it was cheaper to do that then to buy the camera and pay for the developing seperate.
I wanted to check out Costco to see what their bulk price would be.

Your FMiL is right, it is cheaper like that but does everyplace develope them or do you have to take them to the place where you buy them?

You need to develope them where you buy them. Ask about it when you're looking at them.

The ones I saw at WalMart, you could get the regular ones or the ones with a wedding design on it.

Cool! I didn't realize they would have ones that were wedding related. I will have to check them out next time I go to Walmart. That is a really good price when you consider you don't have to pay shipping. Thanks Cindy!:D

I was wondering about this too...I'll have to have my mother check out Costco for their bulk as well. Anyone know if BJ's does that? Guess I could check with my FMiL. (Bet it would make her happy to see us...oops.)

The price at wally world is good considering you don't have to pay shipping...thanks Cindy!

Cindy that site has some realy nice things for favor ideas. Good luck. I know what I am doing but I always see something I would have liked to do.

I saw the glasses I want to get to decorate myself for the wedding party on line at Target 12 for $24.99 but I was in target today ( got me a new outfit for my interview ) and sawTHOSE glasses 12 for $9.99. I should have put the clothes back but I wanted them. Never buy myself anything and Nicholas told me he would give me hell if I didnt get a new outfit cause he put my work pants in the dryer and THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE. He feels bad and told me to buy a new outfit every week for the next few weeks. But I wanted to buy those glasses so bad. When I do have the money for them the price will go up again I just know it.

I was talking to my mother about cameras and she was surprised I was going to ask people to leave them there. She thought they would get to take them with them. I'm only going to have twelve, so I can just imagine the scene when people try to take them home.

Anyways, are y'all going to use the cards that come with them or are you going to do something different? What do your cards say? (I'm getting mine from walmart--thanks cindy!) so they won't have cards...at least, I don't think they will.

Cards that come with them? I don't think i have ever seen cards with disposable cameras. What are they for?

There's cards that come with the wedding themed cameras that say something along the lines of please help us capture our memories...just so people don't walk away with them. I was wondering what some people were going to use if they just get the regular cameras that don't come with cards.

I saw a couple once make up a nice 'Camera card' that read something like this ...

"Moments Captured are Memories Made.

We are so glad you are here to share our special day with us! Please help us to capture the memories ... Use this camera and take all the pictures you want. We are looking for special moments; the fun, family and friends, and of course those 'must have' shots. Enjoy the festivities and pass the camera around!

When the day is done and the camera is full, leave it on the table for us to collect later. You will be giving us a special gift of the memories of our day through your eyes ... Thank you!

Bride and Groom
Wedding Date"

ahhh. Makes sence.
I will mostlikely make my own.
I am making a table card that is 3 sided that will have the table number, menu, and conversation starters on each table. So i could put the message on there about the cameras. And possibly have the MC comment on the cameras.

And possibly have the MC comment on the cameras. Yep, seen that done lots too ;) Usually at the beginning as the guests are being seated, before the couple makes their entrance.

Thanks guys...

I'm thinking I may shorten it so I can put it on a label on the camera...but I'm not sure. Those are logistics that are yet to be worked out. :) Thanks again!

bnd94
01-23-2006, 06:51 AM
Yeah I am hoping to make it shorter too. That way people don't start reading it and give up half way through. Want to be sure they get to the leave it on the table part. It is a little long.

WebLady
01-23-2006, 11:25 AM
A friend of a friend did something similar to the notice I posted above because she felt the shorter 'Take the pictures and leave the camera' thing seemed sort of rude. She wanted to make sure her guests knew they were apart of the day and that the pictures would be appreciated ... like an added gift.

Another idea ... you could have the camera(s) wrapped as a gift on each table with the note/instructions inside (and maybe the favors too). Then have the DJ make an announcement for someone at each table to open it and read it to everyone at the table.

I think people like to be involved and made to feel special, I think they would read the longer note if it was more 'heart felt' and personal. But that is just my opinion ;)

:goodluck: ladies :)

I like the idea of wrapping them!

An off brand camera I've found that's relative inexpensive has a wrist band to it. I thought about making a tag to hook onto where the wrist band would go; that way I can do something a little bit longer.

Ok, so let's come up with something shorter than the long one, but not as short as take a pic and leave the cam...:)

My brains working on it...

I have seen 2 baskets on the table with the guest book, 1 had cameras in it and the other was empty. There was a sign that said something along the lines of wanting help catching candid shots. If someone wanted to help, they picked up a camera, and there was a sticker on the back of the camera for them to put their name if they wanted a set of the pics they took. When the camera had been used they were to leave it in the other basket. The girl who did this said all of the cameras were used and only 2 people requested copies of the pics they took. She also said she got some of the greatest pics!

I went to Walmart yesterday but they didn't have the cameras you were talking about. :( Oh well. I'll just have to order them off the internet.

This is a nice idea but I wouldn't want to pay for those that said they wanted copies of the pictures ;) I would guess (or hope) that most people wouldn't ask and would realize this was just 'part of the wedding'

Most of the people that took the pics didnt request copies and she knew most wouldnt. BUT....she also knew there were a few that would have made comments "she invited us to a wedding to take her pics" so she nipped that in the bud by offering to "pay" them for there services.
FYI - she also worked at Wal Mart in the photo dept, so she got her film developed for next to nothing.

I can see some of my family members saying that type of thing as well Cindy. Maybe I'll put that offer out there so they don't get mean...of course, it may be awhile before they get them...or maybe I'll scan them and then send them digitally...that would save some moolah! I'll have to think about it...but I do like that idea.

I don't think any of my family would be like that. It is pretty common to have disp cameras at weddings so I don't think they will think anything of it. It is nice to give them the opportunity to get copies though. I think it is a little much for people to feel that the bride and groom should pay for the prints for them when they have so many other financial things going on.

Hey the offer was for "a copy of the prints" THEY took. It didnt say when or how they would get them! Personally I like the disc thing......now days everybody swaps pics tht way anyway.

That is an idea I might do. With the pictures every oens takes as well as the ones the photographer takes. I will have the copy rights after all is said and done. Putting together discs for the family would be a cool gift to give with a ty note.

All we have to do is buy the discs in a bulk package from wal-mart as we do for our music cd's we make. I have put photos on cd's for the kids dad before. And the pictures will already be on the pc so I dont think it would be expensive at all. There are a few family memebers I know dont have a pc so I would just get a picture or 2 blown up for them maybe. I did a photo album of the past year that Nicholas has been with us for my mom and his mom for christmas. It wasn't to expensive to do at all.

Yeah, it didn't cost much. And we got a few calls saying that the photos were nice so I know some people liked them. But, there are a few people that we have still not heard from and it has been nearly a year.

Kelli it would look cool if you could get your sillouettes(from your menu) and have it printed on the discs with your names and date. I don't know how expensive that would be though.

You could play your first dance song in the back ground too.

At my brothers wedding the video camera's battery died right after the ceremony so I took a bunch of pics of everything at the reception(first dance, bp dance, cake cutting, family members having a good time......everything). When I got home I put the camera in slideshow mode and played their first dance song and recorded them both on a vhs tape. (they didn't have a dvd player at the time) They loved it.

About your question on disposable cameras. I didn't buy disposable cameras for the tables at the wedding. Because I spent so much on centerpieces and decorations food and this and that. I know it doesn't seem a lot but it will add up trust me. My friend thought it was neccessary to do that at her wedding. And after the wedding like weeks afterward. She regreted it because she was broke. She had two hundred people at her wedding. Just think of it like this. Your guest can bring their own camera they are responsible for bringing their own things. And you are paying as much as it is already. Just thought I would give my helpful advice to ya.
