I just mailed in a huge payment to the photographer. I was so excited beacuse that on top of the deposit should have only left likfe $300 to be paid. Which would be no big deal for next payday. So then I come in to enter the payment on the spreadsheet that I made. I got hte photographer's price wrong by like $1000. My mind somehow turned the $2100 that he was actually charging to $1200. (I don't know how that happened.) So now, the celebration of almost having my first big vendor paid off was cut short. I owe $1300 not $300 and that can't come out of one paycheck for me. I will be paying well into March. :bbcry:

Awwww.....Lacey that sucks. I know the feeling of thinking you have something covered and then finding out you dont. Kinda stings a little. Sorry for your disappointment.

Awwww Lacey - that's just a little oops! ;)

I'm having a little bit of sticker shock on the prices of photographers.

Sorry to hear that Lacey.
Its nice that you have more time to pay it though and don't have to worry about paying the balance right now.

I'm waiting to have some more price shocks. I don't think i've had enough yet.

The photographer prices caught me too. Since I'm a scrapbooker, my photographs were my top priority...and considering they're almost half my wedding budget, you can tell (makes all those photographer vendors on here happy doesn't it?)

I'm with Cindy, it stings when you thought you had something paid off and then find out you don't. I don't like that.

Wow. That really does stink...What's worse is having to pay that much!! Are they all that expensive down there? Mine for a full day is only $850.00

WOW! Mine for the seven hours we have them is almost 2k. But part of that was because I wanted access to ALL of the pictures forever, so I am purchasing the digital negatives. But still...it's two hundred an hour just have them there...

I had my engagement photos yesterday and I can say, from that experience, they are TOTALLY WORTH the $200 an hour. My wedding photographer is SUCH a sweetie! And the owner's little boy was there and he makes me want to have children so much more than the average little boys...he's so cute and Jason was playing with him which was EVEN MORE CUTE!

Ok, I'm done now...

The pictures are a big deal to me to. I got very lucky that Suze is paying for them as a gift. She knew how bad I wanted this. This is the package we are getting.

*up to 6 hours of coverage (one hour before ceremony through reception formalities-actual coverage time to be determined by photographer but no less than 5 hours)

*minimum of 400 images

*one 4x6 print of all images

*all images on a cd in high resolution with reproduction rights granted

*all images uploaded to a password protected website (you choose the password) with in 7-14 days of the wedding for family and friends to view and/or order at photo lab reprint prices to save you from "taking orders" later

*10 page Flush Mount album created with the images you choose. A coffee table styled album that expresses a unique story book view of your wedding day. No two albums are ever alike. Each one is individually designed to accommodate those images that most accurately capture the essence of your special day in a wide range of sizes, backgrounds, shapes etc. Just a few examples of what some of the pages might look like are seen here:

The total price came to about $3,500.00. More then my wedding is costing me. I have no idea how I can thank her for this.

I saw small books like this when I was at the bridal show. I would love to have one of those but I will be happy with what I am getting. There is no way I can complain.

That sounds like an awesome deal at 3,500.00 ... out here something like that might be over 5,000.00.

And OMG, what a gift :D So I must have missed something, who is this Suze? A friend or family?

Congrats and good luck!

Tell me about it. She is the one who suprised me by coming over here for a week for my birthday. She is an amazing friend. She knows how hard we have it at times and she helps us out when she can. I don't ask her she just does it. She also said she has collage funds set up for each of my kids back home in Austraila. She has become one of my FH best freinds as well. That is how they managed to keep her coming here last month a secret. We keep in touch through e-mail and we IM every Sunday morning. She works second shift so it is very early monday morning for her when it is early sunday afternoon for me. We have managed to make it work. She told me her parents might be close enough to be at the wedding. That would be cool. I have IM'ed with her a dad a couple of times but never her mom. I also have a freind in Ohio who is doing all the flowers for me. I will admit I am one very lucky girl to have such awsome freinds. And I met them both as well as my FH on line. All in the same quiz room. And I dont know what my life would be like without any of them. OK sorry I got to rambling again. I will shut up now I think I just hijacked some elses board. Sorry bout that.

Photographers are expensive but on the other hand with out fab photos of your day you would not be able to look back and bring back such wonderful memory's Our photographer is costing £1600 (which aprox is $3000 according to fh) but my photographer is going to do 3 venues my house while i am getting ready, the church and the reception he is going to take mostly relaxed and natural action shoots with a few traditional ones, we then get one large album with 2 smaller ones for the parents, an engagment sitting, 2 full size framed photos and all of it put on a disc so not to bad at all
