I would absolutely love a winter wedding (not an x-mas one), but as I've said somewhere else before... as a teacher, I would not be able to go on my honeymoon without wondering the whole time what was going on in my classroom with the sub.... so a summer wedding for me.
I just think that the decorations for a winter wedding would be wonderful... so romantic with all the white and blues, and yes, snowflakes, etc...

i love the idea of xmas/winter wonderland
alot of people do xmas tree centerpieces with the ornaments as favor on the tree. Also, its pretty budget friendly if you decide cuz decor can be purchased after xmas for cheap

One of the PRETTIEST weddings that I have ever been to was in winter (Jan.) and she did white and silver as her colors. It was soooo clean, crisp and very elegant!!! I remember everyone saying how NO one does white as a color that much and it made for a beautiful wedding!

Winter weddings. Nice idea, I've yet to do one myself, but have seen a few, and man oh man, they look perfect. Nothing like white all around, and the sun glistening off the snow.
If you go wuth outdoors, even better, the frost on tree's, make for a excellent back drop.

I LOVE the winter wonderland idea...there is sooo much you could do with that! And the Christmas season is here, so you'd definitely have NO problem with getting decorations! Especially if you hit all of the after Christmas sales!

As I am leaning towards the winter idea, not to sound greedy or anything, but I'm also thinking that if its before Christmas then people may be low on funds to save for the holidays and if its after the holidays then people may be broke...lol.

A few ideas/things to think about...
when looking at venue ask if they have pictures of their winter decor, a lot of brides will save money but choosing a location that goes all out during the holiday season. Make sure you know what they do during the month of december.
Also giving ornaments as a favor with your wedding date on it is very cute and I have yet to see it done.
The only draw back is if you have a lot of out of town guests, it might be hard for them to travel right before christmas if they can't get work off or if they had plans for the holidays already. This is a save the date must!
Good Luck

Winter is my favorite time of year. I think it makes for a great wedding (Obviously). It does strike me as odd that people in Southern locations would decorate with snowflakes. Does it ever snow in SoCal or Texas? Whatever, to each their own.
I can't wait for there to be a few feet of snow on the ground for our wedding.
