This is our main DIY project other than the bridesmaid totes I'll be making or plan to make. Erik actually makes these and once made one for my mother so her idea was to make these for the name cards. Of course, now Erik has to make about 130 of them or so, we're collecting them from our venue, family and friends.
They are champagne cages turned into little chairs. This picture is of some of them he made over the weekend. I'm very lucky to have such a creative fiance.

Oh and if anyone has any ideas for the place cards to put in the chairs I would appreciate it. Since our favors are a donation to a charity I was considering having a little envelope with the names on it and in the envelope have a little card with an explanation of our donation/favor.

I just love these! But, of course, you already knew that since I gushed about them in your blog. 130?!?! WOW! Go Erik!

Yeah, I had to request he start them now even though we only have like 15 cages to work with. He likes to put things off until the last minute but I do not.
I was just thinking...maybe he can somehow make a loveseat one with 2 cages for us :D

Hehe...he can be pretty useful when it comes to these things. That's what happens when your fiance works on string instruments for a living. He's much better at these kinds of things than I am. Good with his hands :flower:

Well...everyone is supposed to be collecting some for us but we've yet to get any except from my parents. We're also having the venue collecting some for us although the first couple times they did that all of the cages had no caps (seats) which defeats the purpose. I really need to contact them again.

Maybe we should all pitch in by drinking one bottle each this weekend and them sending them to you! How fun if you could say all your online wedding buddies helped you out! LOL, but of course we would have the real fun "helping you" as well.

I would love the help, it would mean a lot. If anyone wants to send me any they get I would try to find a way to make return the favor. No pun intended.

So are you going to cover the caps with cloth to match your colors or leave them as is?

Leave them as is, we're not doing anything too fancy with the tables or chairs.
