Quick question about invitiations... I am inviting a good friend from highschool that i still keep in touch with. She has been dating the same guy for about a year now and they live together, but i have never met him, im not sure his last name is either. Should i address the invitation to the both of them, or just her and guest?

If you keep in touch with her, ask her what his last name is and put them both on there. SHe doesnt even have to know why you ask. If there has been talk of them getting married, you could say "I dont even know what your last name will be!"
If there is no way of finding out, then and guest is fine.

Either or will work. I mean she might appreciate you asking some pople get super offended by the "and guest". The next time you are talking to her just say. "I am in the process of doing the wedding invites. I was just wondering what X's last name is so that I can get them done properly." She won't mind one bit. I mean it isn't like you are hanging out with them every day or anything like that.

I have the same situation, however, I'm inviting the girl with her family (as they all live together). So I figured I would word it "The Doe Family and Guests" (in case someone else wants to bring a guest too). I know the "and guest" stuff can be offensive, but with EVERYTHING else you have to worry about your wedding, the people who are offended by it will need to take a chill pill.

Hi Jenn:
Since they are living together the invitation should be addressed to both of them.
Good luck!!!

Thanks.... That's what i was thinking, i'll need to find out his last name. No big deal. She already knows i'm inviting her to the wedding. I just wasn't sure what was the best way.

One of my friends just sent me an e-mail a few weeks ago to ask what my fiance's last name was, as she was inviting us to her wedding and wanted to include his name.
I thought nothing of it when she asked, since I didn't know her fiance's last name until I got the bridal registery information.
