Oh, man you guys!! Bruce lost his ring. You'll remember he is a farmer..and we had actually thought he wouldn't wear his ring to work...but he LOVES wearing his ring and has only taken it off once since we got married.

Well, on Wednesday, he was working and was having trouble with his combine, so was working on it. Somewhere along the way...his ring fell off. He didn't notice until he was on his way home that night. He went back and looked for it...and just can't find it. He is soooo upset!! I feel bad for him. I've already ordered him a new one...the very same ring. But, it sucks!

Yeah that really sucks... It's really sad :(
Well at least he can have the same ring again - maybe not wear it to work anymore?

Awww! Isn't it amazing how guys can get so worked up over that stuff? It's amazing! They get all mushy, and it's just the sweetest thing! I know Larry would react the same way, but with our luck, we'd find the **** thing after we ordered a new one! LOL

Awwwwwww!

Does he have an idea of where it might have slipped off? How much terrain did he cover that day? Just wondering if it's possible to rent a metal detector and to try to retrace his steps.

I loked at it this way... I may have lost the ring, but not the wife.

hmmm..is there a chance he took it off cuz he knew he was going to be working on it? i hav done that -- i do it sometimes with cooking and forget i take it off.
well im sorry that he lost it.. i know there is a sentiment and the new ring wont necessarily have it-- but just thiink.... maybe you can be really cute about it and slip it backon his finger again like you did when you got married--- maybe if hes real beat up about it (which i would be) you could have a romantic dinner and tell him you have mnay more years to make memories and sentiment with this one:)

hehe

Thanks!! He IS pretty torn up about it. He is good about getting a different one. He looked really hard the next day to find it...but no luck. He thought it was where he chged the header...or maybe where he put the new belt on...but nothing in either place.

I'm going to get him a chain, so he can wear it around his neck while he's working. We'll see how that works!!

I just had to add my "poor guy" comment. That's so unfortunate!

Thanks, ladies and gentleman. He's better now that we've ordered a new one. He's not real impressed with having to spend the money...but we'll be OK. I can't wait to put it back on his finger.

We ordered it the other day...and of course, it's the one size they don't have in stock. So, they'll have to make it. It's going to take about 3 weeks. But, at least it isn't discontinued or something dumb like that. lol

I had a customer say something like this to me. He lost his and his wife wont just put a new one on him. He said she has to have it blessed first.

I am sorry to hear he lost it. I gave DH a ring ebfore he asked me to marry him that is engraved and he wears it on his right hand. Well with his new job his hands swell. He said to me he migh thave to take it off. I thoguht he ment his wedding band at first but he meant the other one. I told him to give it to me so I can put it away where we know where it is.

THis laso made me think back to when I was dated my ex husband. I had bought him one of those braceletts that has the name on it. Well I had put both of our names on it and he loved it. He lost it so I got him a new one. A coupel of years later his sister and BIL bought the house I used to live in. He found the old bracelette in the back yard. He kept both of them.

Maybe it will turn up.

THis laso made me think back to when I was dated my ex husband.

Actually one of the things that worried him was he saw how I reacted when the ex "lost" his ring. Turns out he was messing around...and had taken it off on purpose. I was VERY angry when I found out he lost it. Bruce was worried that I would be pretty angry. But, I told him...these are different circumstances. You're not messing around!!!

I still have to wear a ring guard under mine..I wear a size 4 and most jewlers don't make that small of a size...I know I can take it to have it sized but that takes weeks and I can't stand not wearing it...I'm a dork I know but still :)
Ger, I'm sure it will turn up prob. after he stops looking for it..isn't that how it usually works? :whoohoo:

We're thinking that once the new one gets here...he'll find the other one. We did talk about renting a metal detector..we'll see. He's been so busy that there hasn't been time yet. He should be done combining by the end of the week. Then maybe we'll see about getting a detector. We have to drive a couple of hours to get one...so that's why the extra time is needed. In the meantime, he sure is complaining about how naked his finger feels. lol

awww well don't beat yourselves up over it, it can happen to anyone and it was an accident.. No big deal. I can imagine he felt just horrible though. But its A-OK.. Ring or no ring you are still married. :)

Oh, this is too weird!! We were just talking about that very thing this morning. That, no matter how naked his finger is...we are still married and that's what counts!! Great minds think alike!

Is it engraved? LOL If it is, years and years and years from now, when the farm is being plowed, someone will see the sun reflecting off of it ..... pick it up and be able to search for your decendants to give it back. Romantic aren't i?

does he have a chain necklace or something? when i bought victor his ring, he would wear it on his neck if he was doing something physical that could potentially damage the ring (yes i know we're not married.... yet. but he still wore it for me)

I only wish it was engraved. We didn't do that. So, our offspring will be out of luck!!

I am going to find him a nice chain for Christmas. I'm not sure he'll wear it there, but it's worth a try! He's so complaining about his naked finger...I'm not sure a chain will make him happy, but we'll see.
