Wow that's freaky. But I guess it depends on the kid's age - if they're old enough to not put them in their mouth it shouldn't be a problem.

The scarier part is thinking about how many bad people out there might use this information to their advantage in a not good way.

Good point...didn't even think of that.

I think even if the child doesn't put it in their mouth they still will get teh stuff on their hands. Either wya Iw ould not let my child play with this stuff.

I just wanted to put it out there in case some have not heard. I would hate for anything to happen to a child.

A girl at work just got her order of this yesterday and then heard this on the news this morning.

I jsut wish that who ever is supossed to inspect these toys they start doing a better job. THings are on recall WAY to often these days.

Well I think if some weirdo wants to rape a girl, he'll be able to get the drugs at the source and won't use this.

I agree with the above. Who inspects these toys & didn't they think it could be harmful to kids? I have a granddaughter & I worry about these things all the time. Times are so different than 20 yrs ago. It's amazing how much technology we have & still stuff like this happens.

Thousands of Curious George plush dolls are being recalled because of unsafe amounts of lead in their surface paint. A number of models are involved - all have plastic faces. They are the Birthday, Fireman, Sweet Dreams and Tool Time Curious George dolls. They were sold with Curious George story or activity books. About six-thousands were sold in Canada.

Oh that's pretty sad for Curious George. Those little guys actually have personality and I think if I were a kid if mom took away toys that stick together in water I'd be dissapointed but wouldn't really miss it - but lots of kids might miss their favorite stuffed animal!! They REALLY should check them out before selling them!

I'm in Australia where the recall for this product started. We call them Bindees here. They won "Australian Toy Of The Year" award and the importer has been nominated for "Importer of the Year". Apparently the authorities are now saying it might have been sabotage, but no one is taking any chances. Bindees have been pulled off the shelves Australia wide. There have been 4 cases of children being admitted to hospital after swallowing them and needing urgent medical attention. Thankfully, all have come out ok.
I have 4 kids of my own and a neice who loves them. We had ordered some for our kids for Christmas, the order has now been cancelled and my neices have been returned to the store.
It's scary to think that if it was a sabotage attempt that there is some sicko out there wanting to harm kids this way.
The drug is not actually on the toy, if the beads are injested, the stomach acids metabolises into the drug gamma-hydroxybutyrate also known as Grevious Bodily Harm (GHB) or Fantasy.
