When is the proper time to register? People keep asking me if I have yet. I was waiting because I don't want the things I register for to be discounted.

We already have ours done. I don't think it matters much since you can edit it at anytime you want.

Most places make the registry available online. You can even start the registry right from the computer without even going to the stores. I know some stores will even notify you by e-mail if an item on your registry is being discountinued.

Bed Bath and Beyond and JCPenney (and then the Honeyfund one since we don't need a heck of a lot of material items).

With JCPenney you can always remove stuff online and add their online items, but your do have to go to a store to add their in-store only items, unless you happen to know the magic product number, which is a really strange concoction.

I started both registries online and then went into the stores to look at the fabric items.

I think you can register now , no problem. It may be a tad early, so I don't think people will start giving you anything (the first person to ask about my registry did so 4 months before the wedding) right away, but you can just change if something is discounted.

We registered about 10 months before our wedding, which was about 2 months after getting engaged..we were getting engagement gifts that were ugly (HA HA) so we did it!

The only problem is the further out your register the more likely it is you will have to make updates for things that are out of date or discontinued! Thus far, we have been pretty lucky! We did not register for bedding until about 1 month ago!

I even got birthday gifts off our registry!!!!

Speaking of registries I got our bread maker in the mail today! YAHOO!!!

I heart MACY'S!!!!

My FH and I are registering at Target, Wal-Mart (maybe) and BedBathBeyond... we plan on registering in the next month or two... I think I have seen anywhere from 9-12months before the wedding should you register, and yes you can always go back to the list and add or drop items....

We didn't register until 3 mos before the wedding, when I was asked to by friends and family. We did C&B and Williams-Sonoma only.

I wonder, if you register now, you can tell people that you want Christmas items off of your registry (and then get more when the wedding comes around!).

I think you really can register for what ever you want. We are going to be registering for plates, pots, pans, towels stuff like that. We already have most of these things but they are not good quality. We still are using the towels I bought at kmart from my first apartment.

I was recently asked by an aunt if I was registered... we weren't planning on it since this is my second time around (his first)... but then thought "what the heck?!" We'd always like nicer stuff than what we're using (all odds and ends). So we'll go in the next week or two. I'm thinking Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl's and possibly Target. Can't wait!

We registered already too! I don't think it really matters when you do it. People do not normally start sending you gifts till the bridal shower and till the wedding gets closer. You can always change , add and delete stuff from your list. We have done it many times already. Its a lot of fun :)

Just curious how many places is considered "to many" to register at? Should you limit it to one or two? I registered at one place simply for the Cookware and very few other things, but is it ok to register with a fuller list at 2 other places? I'm not going to be seen as a selfish brat am I???:whoa:

In my area I have seen 2-3 places. I didn't think anything of it.

Generally you register around 10 months or so before the wedding, but you can wait till about 6 months I wouldnt wait any longer than that though. Good Luck

My wedding is in 5 months (showers in 3 months) and I registered last week. We registered at Target and Walmart so far. We may add Kohls if we find anything there. I only registered for about 35 items at each the other 2 places and we are having 250 at the wedding so I probably need to add more stuff I just couldnt decide! I will we had Bed Bath and Beyond!!!!
