Wedding Nightmares!!!

Hah hah, I can tell some of you are expecting a thread about stories of weddings gone wrong -- but that's NOT what I mean.

I mean, real wedding nightmares, the kind you get when you're asleep. Like last night, when I woke up, sitting upright in bed, convinced that my wedding was TODAY (keep in mind, now, that it's roughly 18 months away . . . ) and I was freaking out trying to figure out why people didn't tell me about it, where everything was, and how the heck I was going to get there on time when I had work and an important doctor's appointment today! I was going nuts trying to convince my work that I needed the day off --- and going equally nuts trying to get the wedding people to stick around! For some reason there was a makeup artist and a hair person and a minister and three people that I didn't know who were supposedly my attendants but my FH and his crew were nowhere to be found!

Needless to say, it was wierd.

I also had a wierd dream last night that I was sleeping in front of an open refrigerator, but I discovered when I woke up that through most of the night one of the windows in our 'patio' had blown open and that the cold air was blowing right into the bedroom, argh, so that dream is readily explained. '

*grin* I thought that 18/19 months was WAY too early to start having wedding nightmares!

Yep...I've been having nightmares since I got engaged.

My favorite was that my hair stylist showed up late, so instead of doing my hair, she just put a big, HORRIBLE wig on my head and I didn't have time to re-do it.

Hehehe... I started getting them about 3-4 months ago. The last one I had was about a month ago. I dreamed that I saw on the news that the new trend was to shave your head bald. So I went and got my FH's shaver and started shaving my head. I was all bald just on top when my FH walked in and was like, "What are you doing???" And I tried to explain to him that EVERYONE was shaving their heads. And he reminded me of the wedding and I started panicking thinking that it would not grow back in time and I would have this HORRIBLe mullet like style for my wedding pictures.... I then woke up in a sweat and immediatly felt for my hair .....The dream was sooo real though....

I heard the nightmares get worse as you get closer to your date...

Oh yeah I've had a few myself. One was everyone was here but at the last minute I forgot I didnt pay for the church or the hall. My dad ran and paid for the church while I was running around walmart getting my shoes (in my gown). I woke up in a panic. I've had a few other dreams as well. I at first thought it was just me but then I spoke to other ladies who had recently gotten married and they said they had them too.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I wouldn't say I'm having nightmares really, but really strange quite vivid dreams. Like one was: for some reason we couldn't get married on the day we planned and if we wanted to get married near that time we had to do it on our honeymoon. It ended up being really romantic, but none of our family was there. I'm also not really sure how we managed to pull off getting married in another country on such short notice and how my dress got there. Hahahahaha.

i never really had "nightmares" but I did have some dreams about things not going right, or something of that sort but nothing major like you guys are mentioning..which is weird cause I always have night mares :notsure:

Tango me too. Since I became engaged I have been having good dreams about the wedding, and bad dreams about the wedding. I have also been having dreams about my FH being unfaithful, even tho I know he;s not and my MOH told me that she had the same thing when she got engaged... and that I shouldnt even pay attention to it or not to take it as a sign...

The last dream I had was it was my wedding day and was covered head to toe in a rash, my dress was actually a light orange, and my FH stood me up at the alter.... then I started bawling on the alter and this guy from the audience came up and married me and the weird thing was it was my FH face, but a different male body to it... creepy!!!

Hahahaha - these are hysterical. For the first couple months I kept having these dreams that I would wake up on our wedding day and I hadn't booked any of the vendors. I was running around trying to figure out what the hell to do. Then I had another one where my hairstyle fell down right before the ceremony and i was trying desperately to do something with it but I'm a hair moron and couldn't do anything with it. Both stupid dreams, they've stopped recently, most likely due to the fact that I'm not all that anxious about anythhing right at this moment...

I haven't had any yet either but I have to tell you Southern - I can't stop laughing. I know it's not funny but this was really a good one. For some reaon I can totally picture you waking up and feeling for your hair...:rofl:

The closer our wedding got the more and more nightmares I had. I even had a nightmare that I forgot it was my wedding day...gee..I'm glad that never came true.

I had a dream last night that it was the day before the wedding and I just realized that I'd forgotten to send out any of the invitations!

My weirdest wedding dream was when we were staying in a hotel and i told all my girls to try their dresses on for me and they all came out with different dresses and had the nerve to be bi*chy and say- they didnt think they should have to worry about what i said- and then i walked into my bridal suite to see my fbil shooting a reenactment of the civil war and told me he would be out by time we came up after the reception.. in the same dream my mom didnt know who the florist was cuz she lost their card and i had NO flowers and my makeup artist (who i dont know) was drunk! - in my dream my mom had hired her and i woke up blaming my mom for alot.. i called her immediatly and was like "listen here mom , you are not allowed to lose the florists numbers or hire any drunk stylists" haha

i have them all the time, but they always involve not being prepared enough. like i alays wake up thinking "gosh i better remember that"

18 months is NOT to early :) i thought i was getting married for 23 months- and i was still having them... cant imagine the dreams im going to have now that its only 15/16 months away :)

I had a horrible wedding-related nightmare last night. Dreamt the gynecologist refused to prescribe the pill to me and was horribly mean to me. Guess i'm worried about going for the first time in a week... Really nervous :s

Aww yeah that's awful ! that happened to me once but when I woke up I didn't feel too awful because I realized right away that it COULDN'T be true - he would NEVER do that.

I seem to always have dreams that it's my wedding day and nothing is ready. I didn't send out the invitations, FH doesn't have his tux, my dress isn't ready, etc etc.

Last night I dreamt that it was my wedding day and I didn't know where I was going to get my hair done. So I was frantically calling salons to see if I could get in that day! :petrified:

I'm so glad I'm not the only person waking up in the middle of the night pissed at every single vendor that is supposed to assist at my wedding. I have been having nightmares for months - and just last night I had one. This morning I thought I'd start a thread about it, but seems there is one already :)

I always dream that I've planned for months and months just for the day to come and NOTHING is prepared, my dress is not the one I wanted, my hair isn't done, I'm being pushed to the altar barefoot and groggy from sleep... and I get SO PISSED!

I don't even have a date set, and I'm having nightmares already. I had one the other night that my parents decided throw their own rehearsal and rehearsal dinner a year before the actual wedding in this little run down church in the middle of nowhere. And I was trying to tell them how silly it was to have the rehearsal a year in advance while they were stringing tulle and mini-lights down the aisle on the pews....

OMG! I was just about to post a new thread on this! I had a bad one last night where the wedding was STARTING, and I wasn't dressed or ready, my dress hadn't been sized, I didn't know where my bridesmaids were...NOTHING WAS READY! It was really more horrifying than it sounds, lol.

Then I ended up at the top of a 100ft. tall room full of ladders...but that's a whole other story, lol.

Hahahahha...I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has these. The main one I remember was that my dress mysteriously disappeared the morning of the wedding and I was in David's Bridal demanding that they give me another one just like it...lol :bblol:

If any of you havent read all the older posts in this thread, YOU SHOULD! Some of them are hilarious. (NOt that I find it funny that people are stressed....) But I cant believe that the dreams havent started for me yet. I usually remember my dreams but no wedding dreams yet. I feel like I am pretty prepared and I trust my vendors so maybe that helps. I bet they will start in the weeks leading up the wedding...we'll see! And I will certainly share when it happens!

I'm with you, Heather. It's weird that I have not had one single dream about my wedding, either. I suppose that's a good thing. I don't feel TOO stressed about it yet, but did just realize it's only 4 months away... I'm more excited than stressed! WEIRD!

I have yet to have one of those wierd dreams or nightmares! I think that it is kinda weird to not have had one yet especially since our wedding is so close!! I am sure that I will start to have some soon though because I am a worrier~!!!

I have a wedding nightmare at least once a week. Like my dress gets lipstick on it, or Shad forgot to order his tux and he shows up in a hawaiian shirt. It always something different.
