Wedding Mark-Ups and WCBS-TV

Has anyone ever organized a wedding for less by planning
it under the pretense of another event, like an anniversary party? Is this just an urban myth? I'm doing research for WCBS-TV and would love to hear about some successes or failures. Please email me, mmmcgeever@cbs.com

I knew a girl who tried that at an event facility I use to work at a few years back ;) I don't know many people that mark up stuff like that but I am sure there are some underhanded vendors out there.

I wouldn't recommend lying about your event but rather just do the research and shop around for and visit lots of vendors before you buy/book anything.
