hahahaha - I've had success with this in the past, but it tends to make me a bit crazy about everything I eat.....but, I know I should be watching my intake instead of dodging this challenge. We'll see how many weeks I can last before I entirely lose my mind.

Try this Katie:
http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm
3500 calories equals one pound. So if you cut out 500 calories every day you'll lose a pound every 7 days. You should figure out how many calories you need to maintain your current weight then subtract 500 from that. I hope I'm explaining this clearly.

Thanks Chandra! That is helpful. I need to weigh myself to begin with but our scale is broken right now, so I'll have to figure that out somehow...Last year I was using Sparkpeople.com, and it calculated everything for you. When trying to lose about 10 pounds in like 6 months it had be eating between 1200-1500 cals a day. I'm now trying to lose about 10-12 before next August, so I'm not in any grand rush...I'm just trying to get myself back on track. I just started grad school and my body just isnt used to sitting all day with my head in a book. Thanks for the help - we'll see how far I get!

How are you doing, dear?
Ah, thank you for checking up on me! Its been sort of the last thing on my mind right now during finals week....I know, its terrible. We'll see what happens if I get thru the next week - I am so stressed out I basically have a stomach ache all the time :(
AAAAAAHHHHHH - SCHOOL SUCKS!
Yes it does! I had this one class that made my stomach hurt just thinking about it. I actually still need to finish up a project and turn it in, but everytime I pull the stuff out I just feel so horrible! Well, good luck with the last push to finish this semester.
