Here is my DIY bouquet. I am soooo happy with it. I showed it to my mom, she thought the roses were real, they are really convincing. Turned out better than my "inspiration bouquet" photo (would post but it was from a magazine)
Plan to add the mini photo frames with photos of deceased grandparents later....
YEAH!!!!
Total materials-$80 (roses were on sale for $2.50 eachX16, plus ribbon, tape, wire, wire cutters, photo frames, rhinestone buttons, etc)

that is GORGEOUS!!! however, can i ask a question.. Please dont get angry, im just wondering... You spent 80 dollars on that (and it shows, your right that everything looks wonderful) but why did you diy instead of ordering throguh a florst (i have seen bridal bouquets between 60-300 but that looks consistent with an 80 florist bouquet at most places *at least by me*---Was it because you needed those specific colors?
Im just wondering b/c im at odds with myself/my mom--- i think i should diy with fake roses to get it over with-- she wants me to use real roses whether i make it myself or get it done, But your right that those look SOOOO real..

Thanks for the compliment on the bouquet. I decided to DIY for several reasons. I did want to have it done beforehand. Also, mine is much more expensive than the bridesmaids will be, so overall i am still saving lots of money. The only good florist in town was going to charge almost $1000 for everything I wanted (we need 6 bm bouquets, 12 bouts, 8 corsages at least). I will have about $250 in this DIY. Mine being about $80 and the others (corsages, bouts, bridesmaids) about $170 or so. I am ordering theirs from a website, they are already made.
I had also considered ordering fresh online to save money but I started to stress about it (would I really be able to do it, where would i store them, what if they didnt look good when they came in, how would i transport them????)
No offense taken, I know it sounds alot for this bouquet. I forgot to mention I am adding Swar. crystal picks as well so there is no way I could buy that bouquet from a florist here for $80. Oh, and FH matching bout.
Oh yeah, and I think its cool that I can keep it forever too:heart:and I like that I can say I did it myself!!! I am actually pretty proud of that-I think the picks will look awesome too:frogg:

thanks so much for your reply- i happen to be at my moms house and had her read it- and i think she is second guessing her whole "real flower" thing--- :)
It really is beautiful.. cant wait to see it with the crystals and everything :)

Aw, thanks. I must say i am a convert. I was totally against artificial until I found these and realized I could DIY and get what I wanted. Also, some of the cost was for supplies that I have tons of left over. So I will be using that stuff again in the future I'm sure.
FYI here are the ones I am ordering for bridal party.

I am getting 8 bouquets and 24 bouts. I only need 6 bouquets and 12 bouts but I will have to re-work the extras into 2-flower corsages. (It was cheaper to order in those quantities) This way I have no waste and dont have to buy anything else. I am excited to get them in and see what they look like. i know they are not roses but i dont think they have to be the same as mine. And I love orchids but I wanted the orange and pink for myself :frogg:
:heart:i love it when things come together:heart:

Very elegant! You did a fantastic job and they do look very real. I know exactly how you feel with getting your money worth. I am also doing roses. I was quoted $1,200 for a traditional florist. Which isn't so bad ... but they will be dead in a matter of days. I decided to go with an online florist. I do worry about my ordering being right, storage and transportation, but I am sure it will work out.

Welome to one wed!
I got the flowers at Hobby Lobby, they are artificial. There are regularly $4.99 but are usually on sale for 50% off. So it was still pretty expensive to make ($60 in flowers plus supplies). But I saved on the bridesmaids and bouts that I ordered. so overall it was still cheaper than ordering real. In the pic there are only 16 flowers, I actually re-worked the bouquet today and added 8 more for a total of 24. I just wanted it a little bigger so it wasnt the same size as the bridesmaids. :frogg:
