I went wedding shopping yesterday and found a lot of really great deals. But I think I also found the tackiest thing in the world. (and if I offend someone....I am soooo sorry, this IS just my opinion!)
I was looking in several different store's wedding department and apparently around here the "new" thing is the "fill in the blank" invitations. You know like the ones for the little kids birthday parties?

The design I ran across the most had bells and bows and the word "Ivitation" on the front and on the inside it went like this:

You're invited to a wedding!
Bride ____________________
Groom ___________________
Date ____________________
Time ____________________
Place ____________________
Hosted by ________________

Ok, it may just be me but that had to be the cheesiest thing I have ever seen. I would handwrite the ENTIRE invitation before I would bring myself to go this route.

Oh...I sure hope not. Im also hoping its not just some "Redneck from the South" thing....but it sounds like it would be. I guess my neck aint red enough to use them!;)
I havent used those kind of invites for my kids in YEARS. I print mine off the computer.

:bblol: LOL at Cindy ... I have seen these for other types of invites (never used them myself) but never for weddings. I agree TACKY.

I would type them out on plain paper before doing this.

On a slightly related note, I knew a bride once that did all her invites as email attachments ;) She only had one printed as a keepsake.

I have never seen those before...tacky. It is one thing for a birthday party (especially back in the day before Windows and laser printers) but for a wedding.....

When I first saw them, I thought they were thank you cards or something so I picked them up to look because the pic was really pretty. When I realized what they were..:bbeek: I told my friend that I thought I had seen everything. She said shes seen some really awful stuff, that that definitely took the cake.

Aaawww...guys, those are my invitations!

hehe...just kidding

I can't even imagine doing that. I haven't seen cards like that, but I did see a stamp that said across the top: You're Invited to Our Wedding

and then it had fill in the blanks for what, when, and where. I couldn't believe it...so I had to pick it up...right...$34.75 for this stamp! (It was a big 'un.) At that point you could buy some non-tacky invitations...I was blown away!

I was at Michael's today and they had fill in th eblank save the dates cards. The thing was, they were only like a few cents cheaper than the regular ones and easily 10x's the amount of work for all the writing that you would have to do. I don't understand!
