What is everyone spending on a veil?
My wedding dress is being custom designed/made, and the same designer is doing the veil, but it's going to be around $150. Is that reasonable?

For what I am paying for mine, yes. From what I know other girls have gotten them for, no. It just depends on how important the veil is to you. It was highly important to my mother and it had to be very specific so she paid for it. I know lots of girls who don't care and only spend $25 on ebay.

I had my custom veil made for $75 flat! (And it fit me and my dress perfectly!) And it was as long or as short as I wanted it. I picked out everything and the lady just made it! But she also has a little business that she runs from home. My DH's SIL got here to make a cathedral length (I think) one and it only cost her $75 as well. So I guess it all depends on who you find to make it and such!

That's about average from what I've seen in bridal shops, it depends on how much detail it has!

That's about average for what I saw at bridal shops. But It's way more then I can afford. I found my veil on e-bay today and it's only going to be $20! I don't even think I could make one that cheap!

My veil ran me $160! I couldn't believe it, but it wasn't something I wanted to hassle with putting together...so it works for me.
It all depends on your time and your ability and your budget.

I haven't even really looked into a veil yet.
My mom wants to make me one out of hers if the colour matches my dress. If not she is going to make one with new fabric. Somthing really simple with some beading.
I this it will cost less then $40

Hey guys, I was looking on the internet today since I finally have some free time. I was thinking about making my veil to save some money, but didn't know how hard it would be. But I found step-by-step instructions on www.michaels.com. It even goes through the steps with you and shows you what to do. Just wanted to share in case anyone else was thinking about making their own veil. Just go to the site, click on the wedding tab, and it's at the bottom (interactive headpieces - for a crowning glory).

I found mine at a bridal show. it was supposed to be £200 but it was the last one and they were'nt gunna continue making the one I chose so the lady gave me it for £50 so I was pleased that i'd bagged a bargin. Its very subtle antique dusky pink with scattered cristals
