Sorry ladies for the abundance of threads I'm doing today. It's just that I forgot my password and it's been a few days since I've been on!
I saw this one couple do table names instead of numbers (ie. when you're doing the table maps and place cards). They had names of cities in Italy since that's where they were going on thier honeymoon. I love the idea but can't think of what theme to use. Any thoughts?

There are tons of different ways to do that. You can do love poems or love songs. Are you doing a theme for your wedding? That would be the best place to start. Pick a theme for the wedding and then go off that.

We actually don't have a theme... although we did meet in grade four so we could use that as a theme..

How long have you two been together? I have known my FH pretty much all my life too!

Have you decided on colors yet?

You could do something like love, promise, forever, happiness, romance.

I am trying to think of something to go with you two meeting in the 4th grade but I am drawing a blank. You could do the one above and throw in fourth grade and other things that remind you of all your time together. Like the number of years you have been going out. where you went on your first date. I am sure some guests will scratch their heads on the 4th grade table name But it would be fun to explain it to them when they ask. I think this is my favorite idea by far!!

Some others I thought of:
Famous romance movies(gone with the wind, moulin rouge.....)

The word love in different languages

Since your wedding is in the spring you could do spring flower names too. Like tulips, daffodils, Hyacinth etc

Okay, I think I'm on to something... I like the idea of words that describe our relationship (ie. Laughter, Love, Friendship, Romance...) and on each table sign, maybe a sweet quote? What do you think?
Any ideas for a creative way to put them up?

We've been together for 8 years, and known eachother for almost 20 years.

You could put them in a nice picture frame.

Okay. The picture frame idea is perfect.
I've brainstormed with my FH and we came up with 17 words (we will have 17 tables) that describe our relationship. We also want to put a quote or words to describe this characteristic. Here is what I have so far, there are a few that I haven't found any quotes- so if any of you can think of some I'd love the help.

1. Family
“To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.” (Barbara Bush)
2. Laughter
"Laughter is the shortest distance between two people." (Victor Borge)
3. Love
“And I will love you, baby- Always. And I’ll be there forever and a day. I’ll be there till the stars don’t shine, till the heavens burst and the words don’t rhyme. And I know when I die, you’ll be on my mind. And I’ll love you- always.” (Bon Jovi)
4. Sincerity
“Our love must not be a thing of words and fine talk.
It must be a thing of action and sincerity.” (I John 3:18)
5. Friendship
“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.” (Bruce Lee)
6. Support
I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who’ll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She’ll get my support (Depeche Mode)
7. Everlasting
“What greater thing for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life? To strengthen each other in all labor to rest on each other all sorrow to minister to each other in silent, unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting.” (George Eliot)
8. Communication
“Men and women belong to different species, and communication between them is a science still in its infancy.” (Bill Cosby)
9. Forever
“In your arms I can still feel the way you want me when you hold me. I can still hear the words you whispered when you told me. I can stay right here forever in your arms.” (ShaniaTwain)
10. Humor
11. Patience
12. Acceptance
Find the person who will love you because of your differences and
not in spite of them and you have found a lover for life.
~ Leo Buscaglia
13. Kindness
Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love.
~ Lao Tzu

14. Romance
“And when my lips meet thine, thy very soul is wedded unto mine.” (Hialmar Hjorth)
15. Dreams
Remember the nights we sat
and talked about all our dreams
Well little did we know then
they were more distant than they seemed
Well I knew it
you knew it too
The things we'd go through
We knew the things we had to do
to make it, baby. (Poison)
16. Happiness
"The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” (Allan K. Chalmers)
17. Understanding
And I'm not just anyone who ever stood outside your door
And I'm not any man you've ever known before
Don't judge this picture by the frame
Every man is not the same
Some men reach beyond the pain
Of understanding women (Elton John)

I think this is what we will use, instead of table numbers.
We will print them out ourselves on fancy paper and put them in picture frames.
We will also post a large sign with everyone's tables and on the top we will write something like We came up with words to describe our relationship... bla bla.. something on those lines..

My printer quoted me $40.00 to print off the 17 signs, is this a good deal or should I print them myself?

That doesnt sound too bad to me but I am not sure what is a good deal or not with printer. If you have a good printer I don't see why you couldn't print them yourself.
