Okay I am currently 5'5 and weigh anywhere from 124-127 it seems to fluctuate. I would really like to tone up my tummy area and loose about 5-10 pounds. I would like to be around 115. So my question to you is, would cutting out soda completely and just drinking water help any. Of course not for the toning of my tummy area, I undertand I have to do sit ups and such for that. I am going to start by doing 25 situps and increasing by 5 every day. Hopefully this will help. All of your suggestions and comments are really helpful and appreciative. GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU GALS!!

Yes...It is very hard for me to drink just water. I don't drink a ton of soda b/c we don't keep it regularly at my house...but when I am at FH's house all they have is soda and tea, and now that I am going to Real Estate school my dinners have consisted of a bag of chips and a soda from the gas station b/c I don't have time to wait in fast food lines(that isn't much better though). So it is hard. IT is just so plain tasting.lol

They Have The Crystal Light Packets, And I Try Sometimes To Make That Work But To Me It Taste Like Unsugared Kool Aid... Boo To That. I Have A Friend Of Mine And Me Now Walking Once A Week, I Hope That Helps. I Am Not A Go Getter When It Comes To The Gym Or Working Out, It Makes Me Mad That I Pay $45 A Month For A Gym I Dont Use... Grrr. Rant Rant Rant... Laughs.
Back To You, Why Dont You Try And Have Some Bottled Water Over Ar Fh House, Easy To Grab And You Wont Have To Have The Soda Or Tea, Just A Thought.

Yeah..and his parents have the type of fridge that has the water beside the ice. So I'm going to try and tell myself everytime I go to get a drink to get water!!!!!!! It's actually pretty good water, and I do drink it ocassionallly. I just have to remind myself. Its just so hard on Sundays when we are together with friends watching football and having snacks and such, its so easy when someone runs to the fridge to grab a soda.
Cutting soda and drinking more water will help.
You can lose some weight quickly by dropping water weight. Rice and low sodium diets are supposedly good for this.
You cannot control where your body loses fat. Doing sit ups pumps the ab muscles with blood that makes them feel more firm, but it doesn't mean that your body preferentially loses fat in that area.
You need to exercise in a very specific way to get effective fat loss. Just doing a bunch of situps will make you feel very tired, yes, and your muscles will be sore, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean you are burning fat when you're doing those situps. There are very specific conditions of exertion for burning body fat vs. carbs vs. protein, and if you want to lose fat then you need to stay in the target ranges.
