I started doing the Weight Watchers points system today. I didnt join, I just have the materials and I am doing it on my own for now. I am 5'4" and weight 135. I would like to weight about 125, so a 10 pound loss goal in 6 months! I tried my very-tight-fitting mermaid gown on friday and it was a wake up call! I have no room in that thing! It fits, but man-o-man it would look better at 125!
Today I ate:
cereal with skim milk-5 points (didnt know my cereal was so high, I will have to get something else!)
turkey on whole wheat toast with ff honey mustard-4 points
califlower and ff ranch dip-1 point
sugar free jello-0 points!
turkey on wheat again for dinner-4 points
green beans-0 points
sugar free frozen yogurt-2 points
salad with croutons and ff honey mustard dressing-4 points?
Total:20 points!

I made a ticker so I am really just posting so I can see if I like it! i had to make them similiar, soooo anal of me! lol
I've found most cereals that I eat to be pretty high in calories. It's usually the highest calorie type of breakfast that I eat. It has a lot of fiber in it though so it keeps me full for quite a while. :frogg:
Good job today and great ticker!

Good for you!!! That is such a great feeling! I wanted to ask you - how do you know what your point allowance is? Are you signed up just online? I'm thinking I want to get myself started on something soon. I just started grad school and things have been insane for the last two months. I'm finally starting to get a grip on my schedule. So....its time to get back to my normal waist size. haha. Any tips??

If you go to www.dwlz.com (http://www.dwlz.com) she has great info including the point allowances (based on your current weight) and points guides for hundreds of restaraunts. I have the actual WW materials from my mom. You really need that to understand the whole program. BAsically, all foods have a point value based on calorie, fat and fiber content. There is a sliding calculater thing that I use a the grocery and for label reading to figure points. You get that when you join in your pack. Its priceless. If you are interested I would suggest joining and getting the materials and then if you think you can do it on your own, then just dont go to the meetings. (LOL, thats what I did. I dont want to pay the $10 /week to weigh!)

I ate pretty poorly over the weekend so I am not going to rehash it here. But my mom and I went and joined weight watchers on saturday. I plan to start tomorrow (monday) I am going to do it at least until the wedding. It is mostly about doing it with mom since she needs some support. But I would love to lose a little more too. So, we will see! It is a really easy plan to follow but eating out is my downfall! iIhave every intention of sticking with it this time. I want to look my best for my wedding.

Hey! I thought I posted to your journal this morning, but I must not have. I just thought I would pop in and say that I have been doing weight watchers since about the 4th or so. I'm not doing meetings and I didn't join or anything, my husband and I are just counting points from home. So far I have lost about 7lbs. My goal is about 15-20 more by May and about 5 more by August. So I am about 1/4 of the way to my goal... now I am at the hard part of losing weight... the slow part!
But we are also working out, so that helps.
If you need an online weight watcher buddy feel free to PM me, we can trade recipes or something. I think I'll start a journal as well, just to help me keep track.

Its funny that I was on her so much before and now that the wedding is closer I have really slowed down.
I am not following WW right now. Its so easy but it seems like after I lose I just feel like I dont have to do it anymore (and I KNOW thats not true) I still would like to lose another 5 or so and I will probably try to get back to it on monday. I have been watching what I eat though and eating smaller portions. My weight lose has remained the same. And I have been walking (Incline) on the treadmill almost every day for 30 minutes. :bun:
Yeah, the closer we got to the wedding, the less time I had to come on here. Plus I was so frustrated with wedding related things that I really didn't want to be doing much wedding chatting. Maybe after the wedding is over you'll feel like coming around more! It seems like you've been doing pretty good. Especially doing the incline every day!
