Ok, remember how I told you they don't make the votives anymore that I wanted to get for my favors? Well I was thinking that maybe they were just a seasonal item so I checked Oriental Trading again, and they're not. They just aren't making them anymore. BUT!!!!! I love my FH SOOOO much. I was talking to him at work today and he had an idea. All they do at Oriental Trading is use clear stickers and put them on the votives. So Steve thought, why can't we just do that ourselves?!?! So here's the question. Do you think it would look ok if we used the clear lables and put our names, the date and nice fall clip art picture on it?? Or will it look cheap or just not work?
Here's an example of what I would get from the website IF they still made fall ones.

Nikki...youre not going to believe this, but that was the original reason I bought the clear votive candles from Michaels in the first place! I even got the clear labels from Office Depot (You have to buy a lot of them, so they can also double as address labels for invitaions and such.)
My only problem with them was that the ink took sooo long to dry and the edges "bleed" a little bit. Ive been told that might be our printer though.
I got the idea from the same website, but different product. The ones i saw had a pre printed poem or something and they couldnt be personalized.
Im using my candles now for the tables , so Im not doing the idea anymore for favors.
Its a great idea. You might could even have the labels mayde at a print shop or something too.

I think this is a nice idea. I made something similar for a bridal show giveaway once before ;) If I remember correctly, I printed them on a laser printer and they looked nice. If you print them on an Ink Jet you just have to set it to highest quality and let them dry all the way before you touch them.

Best wishes,

Yeah I think that would work. I don't think it will look cheap at all. I bet it will be hard to even see the outline of the sticker. Great idea!!;)

We did this for our glasses at my first wedding. They didnt look cheap at all. I bought glasses and stuck the clear lables on them that said bride, groom, ets. I am thinking the same idea for candles but not sure yet.

Nikki, I dont know if they have a Michaels near you, but watch their weekly ads. They carry the 12 pack of votives year round, and they have white or ivory (which I think would be gorgeous with your fall theme), and they will have them marked down to 4.99 or 3.99 for 12, and candles are included. They also have 40% off coupons every couple of weeks, so even at regular price you can get them for cheap. I paid 4.99 for each box of mine, and that comes to about $0.42 each. There was no way I could find them at the $ store that cheap. Other craft stores may have the same bargains, but you will just have to check.
If you can wait, I bet around June they will be on sale everywhere since June is the "wedding" month.
