First off, let me say Welcome to the board!

I am sure this will vary from merchant to merchant. When I was a wedding photographer I would have the proofs ready within 2 weeks of the wedding date. Then once the couple came in to make their selections for the finished album order, I would have it completed and ready for pick up within 3-4 weeks.

Regular print orders (with no albums) were usually ready within a week or two depending on the size of the order.

I have heard of some brides having to wait up to 6-8 weeks. Must be you are waiting for yours? How long has it been so far if you are?

I have heard this too. I know one girl that had to wait nearly 4 months to even see the pictures then another 3 months to get the album back! Sounds like a slack photographer to me.

I don't know, I guess if the photographer was really busy it would take longer but I don't see how it could take that long unless they are just slack, ya know. When I was in the biz doing this myself, I would only take on what I could handle myself and still give personal attention to each bride. I wouldn't ever book more than 2 per month and I would only do one per weekend.

Now when I worked for another photographer, she would book as many as she could get. I remember sometimes there were 10-15 in a month and she would even have to hire out outside photographers to cover what she and I couldn't do. And then we would end up with like 5 weddings a weekend during the 'peak season', it was really rough ... one of the reasons I left. But even in all that, I think that we usually got the proofs done in 2-3 weeks and the Albums out in 4-5 weeks. But we worked ALL THE TIME ... another reason I left :wink:

Wow! You haven't even seen the proofs? Was there a turnaround time stated in the contract?

I so hate to hear when things like this happen. Hopfully it will work out soon :hug:

It took three months to get our wedding photographs...including an album...but our photographer just lost her husband who was also her business partner so she is trying to do almost everything on her own! Six months is definately pushing it! Threaten to involve a 3rd party...that always seems to work for people to get their :censored: together when they are trying to give us the run around!! And if that doesn't work, then GET a 3rd party involved!! I wish you the best of luck and hope your photos turn up soon!!
