I wanted something unique and something that mr.sweets4ever and I would cherish and actually see for years to come.

Once the tiles are baked, the markings permanently bond with the tile! How cool is that?

I'm going to make a mosaic table out of these combined with bits of broken red and black (our wedding colors) glass and findings.

Our guests had so much fun with them! Some are signatures, some send love and some are AWESOME words of wisdom!

Supplies:

http://www.dickblick.com/zz029/48/ (http://www.dickblick.com/zz029/48/) (We used fine tip Scarlet Red or Anthracite Black) Michael's and/or Dick Blick carry these. You might want to get a handful of these. Everyone seemed to carry them back to their seats to create their little masterpieces.
Tiles (enough for your guests, some extra for mess ups and if someone wants to make more than one) United States Ceramic Tile Company, Snow White, 4x4, Flat, Bright from Home Depot

Aw, thanks!

It's really fun to read through them. Some of them are mushy sentimental & some are just hilarious.

I think ours is going to be a small table for our screened porch. I thought about using image transfer paper on some of the tiles & putting some wedding pictures mixed in, but I'm afraid it would be "look, look, look at our wedding!!!" overkill. :bblol:

This is a nice idea; and to make a table out of the tiles is very cool too :)

I was thinking, we have these end tables on either side of our bed, kind of make shift like night stands. They need a lot of DIY pick me up, got them from my aunt with chipped paint, wood coming apart at the joints, etc. This would be kind of cute for that! For anything in the bedroom really. Either that or a table for the living room, low set and long. I love thinking up crafty stuff, sorry for the ramble! :D

it says after you bake them... do you just put them in the oven or is there some special thing you have to do?

Nope. Baking the tiles sets the "ink". The only thing to be careful about (if you are making a table or tray out of the tiles) is when you get around to grouting it. Grout is abrasive and will "scratch" the ink.

So To Set The Ink, How Does One Go About That?

By baking them in your oven. The instructions are on the pen.

Yep! Easy easy easy! I'm impressed with the pens, as I took ceramics and used to hate worrying about my glazes turning out just right with small detail. Being able to bake and set it at home is such a grand idea!

Also, grout is the devil. True story.
