There was a girl named Lesley awhile ago. I remember her when I first started posting on here but haven't seen her in a long time.

I am still around. My wedding date has changed to May 13th 2007 and it was depressing on top of all the other stress in my life, but I am back at it.

Just as stressed, confused and clueless as I was last time.

Aww, Lesley, I know how it is to get your date pushed back. It's happened to me 3 times. Good luck with everything!

It's great to see you back! Hey just think of it this way now you have that much more time to save money and plan the wedding of your dreams.

Anything you need help with just ask. :D

Hopefully yes. We were thinking of ideas to cut costs and ways to save like treating our wedding as a bill and paying a predetermined amount everymonth to a savings, or giving consideration to vendors that offer lay-a-ways.

The only thing with this is that most vendors don't and the major players like venues and caterers require healthy deposits (some non-refundable) in advance.

Do you guys see anything wrong or a bad idea with being flexible in your planning? And what I mean is that I don't have a preference wether we have a ceremony indoors or outdoors, my whole thing is our limited budget. My attitude is however we come out with the better deal, that works for me.

Like looking at venues. I am looking for a good deal and convienence. The hotels that I have quoted so far can offer a location for the ceremony and the reception. The pro is the convienence, but the con is the price. The cheapest I found (so far) was Ramada. They require $2000 min on food and softdrinks. This doesn't include alcohol, service charge, & tax not to mention the ceremony would be extra.

I am now looking at historical houses, landmark properties, halls, clubs, ect with landscaped grounds to hold the ceremony outdoors and hold the reception indoors. Some have and require you to use their catering and some don't, but usually when they don't, they don't have the right equipment which would mean a rental fee included in my budget.

Anyway, just wanted to shake off some fustration. On a good note, I am glad to be back. I have missed sharing in the enjoyment with you all. Lots of catching up to do! Everything is the same from when I left off. My themes, colors, ect. are the same. We did however pick out our rings. Which were are financing unfortunately.

Again, Sorry for the long post but like I said.... I've missed you guys

I've missed you too!! :D

Since you have a ways to go till your wedding could you set up an account and have a certain amount directly deposited into it? That way when you go to book a place you have the money to make a good deposit.

Have you checked out our journals yet? Everyone here is really good at saving money. There may be some ideas there that you could use.

What type of meal you have can save a ton of money too.

Hey Lesley, Brian and I started a wedding fund and it was probably the best thing we could have done. Every week a certain amount of money comes out of our checks. Doing it this way we have just about DOUBLED the budget we thought we were going to have.
As far as being flexible with your planning.....dont worry about it. I handle it the same way, I had ideas of what I wanted but was ALWAYS looking for a better deal. And doing it that wayI have spent WAY under my budget.
DIY - all the way!!!!

Hey ladies,

Does or has anyone see a picture or website of a wedding party that has 3 or more colors?

The reason for my question is because of my theme (butterflies ofcourse) we have three colors. Lavender, mint green, and ivory and I am having a hard time envisioning the colors in regards to the wedding attire.

The colors of course don't have to be exactly like mine, just a picture of a wedding party with different colors would be great!

Thanks for the post. I am doing a butterfly theme. I am hoping that we can do a butterfly release If it rains we will do the release after the luncheon. I'm only doing a hint of butterlfies throughout the wedding. probably one in the flowers, name place holders, and incorporate it in the center pieces I think it'ss be enough! thanks for the ideas!
