Our wedding is outside in June so as one of our favors we were going to have water bottles with personalized labels. Have any of you done this?? If you have, how did you make the labels and get them to stick. Pictures are always welcome.

Well I've never done this myself but I'd think it wouldn't be too difficult. If you can't print on some sort of paper or plastic that would be guaranteed not to run you might want to use some sort of laminate or packing tape to protect the labels from bottle sweat. I imagine a glue stick or elmers or something would be enough to keep the paper on.

I think it's a neat idea!

They have some to do it (they say they are made for water bottles but basically what i would do is get some labels the SAME size as the water bottle labels in a color (this will make it so you can place the label right over the other) and you can just put your monogram :)
I plan on doing this too for on the bar. I am not doing it as a favor- just doing about 50 of them and setting them on the bar

You could print them on your computer at home and use a clue stick to apply them. It would help if you had a paper cutter to trim clean edges.

Or you could order them online and stick them on yourself; here is a place I found - Personalized Water Bottles Labels (http://www.foreverwedstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=F&Product_Code=FW88047)

ETA - Here is another site I found - www.mywaterbottlelabels.com

I didn't use them for our wedding, but I used them in our out of town guest baskets.

I printed them at home, cut them out & used the roll-on doublestick tape (I love that stuff!).

I'll post a picture as soon as I can. :)

Our colors were red & black and we had a nature/plum blossom theme.

Hope that helps!

Oh wow! I didn't know that the dollar tree sold water!!! That is great, I will go check it out.

How long can water stay fresh????

Yeah, it was in packs of 6 or 8.

Hmm. That's a good question about the shelf life. I'm not sure. :(

Thanks!!

I used Photoshop to create my graphic then inserted it in Microsoft Word for printing.

Here's my final template. It's the actual file, so if you click on this, it will open Microsoft Word (don't panic...hehe) http://www.craftster.org/member_projects/sweets4ever/waterbottles.doc

I created an image that was the exact same size as the labels I removed from the bottles. I put a light border around each image. Those lines are where I cut. The right-side does not have a border because that's where my template overlapped & I glued.

We did water bottles and just used white mailing labels (4" x 6"), then put the clear label over it. We found that colored ink doesn't work very well if set in any ice water (ok if refridgerated though). And if set in buckets of ice for long periods of time, the labels will start to come off.

bottled waters usually good for a couple years--they usually have a best before date (i think its required on all consumables...but I'm in canada so I could be wrong..):chicken:

We didn't print on ours...they were super easy! And we had no problem with any glue popping or anything (I used a tape runner for everything).

I just cut pieces of black card stock to fit, used a big flower hole punch to make the white, and glued ribbon around the center. "A" stickers were from Dollar Tree.
