DIY cupcake stand...frusturated...

Ok, so I found this cute cupcake stand that I think would be easy to make, I just have to find the supplies for it. Here is the place I got it from...

Now, all I need to get is the cake boards and the colums. I looked all over the internet and cant seem to find what I need. I want CAKE BOARDS that are 1 inch thick not the cardboard ones....and I cant seem to find them, I dont mind about getting more than one in the package. I dont know of any cake decorating stores here so I was just wanting to get them on the internet. So if anyone could help that would be great:rassberry:

Have you tried looking in craft stores (Michael's, AC Moore, ETC)? I know most have a cake decorating aisle and may have the boards you are looking for.

i usually say online is GREAT but i really think that since your looking for something so specific you go to a place and buy them so you can see it and feel it and know its exactly what you want

Why don't you make them yourself. If you get yourself a 1" piece of dense styrofoam, you can cut it with a utility knife. You could cover the foam with almost any type of material or foil that you want, so long as you cover that with some clear covering like a thin vinyl.

alright...Im so embarrased:boggle: I have been looking for hours for a "1 inch thick" cake board cause that is what I thought her instructions called for...NOPE...it is "ONE cake board that is 8 inches wide....ONE cake board that is 10 inches wide and so on!! So much for reading directions huh?!? HAHA...sorry ladies:geek:

The cake tower ma-jig-a-thingy is the issue for me. Even if I made my own cupcakes I don't want to be responsible for this part! I mean it has to hold around 100 cupcakes (ours that is) without falling over. That would be awful :(

I was wondering about that...I want around 100 cupcakes also. I just thought I would put some one the tower and then circle them around it on the table too. I have found some really cute pictures where they did that and it looks alright. But wouldnt that be terrible if they all fell:whoa: Something to think about!

Hmm, I thought about multiple stands, that might be cute. Like a taller one with some smaller ones circling it or some such. Just thoughts, I have a bit longer than you to decide I think, hehe.
