I found this fun little test on the Freakonomics blog. Is the dancer spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

When I first saw it I thought she was dancing counter-clockwise, then it seemed to switch to clockwise. I stared at it for a while and saw it both ways again. I didn't think the left brain functions seemed to describe me either. I'm not that into math!

Yep...I first saw it going counter clockwise...and I'm SOOOOO a right-brained person.
I can see it go both ways. I think this is such a neat little graphic! :geek:

OH MY GOODNESS... THIS PERSON HIT IT ON THE HEAD... WHEN I LOOKED IT WAS COUNTER CLOCK FOR ME THEN IT JUST SWITCHED... IF YOU LOOK AT THE DIRECTION OF HER FOOT, SHE CHANGES ITS NOT YOUR BRAIN. STILL FUN THOUGH!
"This is an excellent piece of trickery. Having stared at the dancer for two minutes, she switches directions every half minute or so. Just enough time for someone to think they have a clear answer and then stop watching. But if you would like my information just for statistics collection:

I've been staring at it for awhile and still haven't seen her switch.

I see her going clockwise.
ETA .... every time I look away and look back, she seems to switch!

A possible theory is that it all depends on what you've been doing (reading, writing, etc) prior to looking at her. That could explain why see seems to be switching for some of us.

My comment was wrong I was thinking about something else someone stated when I said her foot changes position.
